No still waiting and getting impatient!!!! I thought I may have been able to see Ella in the 1911 census, no joy though!!

I have been looking through this today and thought I had found something - a marriage in 1893 for Anna Maria Bangham BUT, having followed this couple up and down through all the census's it is NOT your Maria (draatttt!!!).

Do you have her birth cert, or her father's name as the only Maria (maiden name Jagger?) I can find was born in 1845 - (reg W. Bromwich) - Is this 'your Maria' - father Joseph (Bank Manager)?

I had looked at that one on 1911 census and I noticed there was also a 'Maria' (Wood)
in there of the right sort of age but having looked at 1901 census for them
I think this would be the 'Institution' ? - Of course, it will only be proved
by buying credits and looking at the details:

Hi Janey & Dea,

Thank you both sooo much for looking for me, I haven't got the marriage certificate of Thomas and Maria......... I was following Thomas's line and I know his parentage, however I have it written that Maria had a middle name Constance.

It was believed that there were no children from this marriage, until I started checking them out and to my surprise up pops Ella.


There would have been vast amounts of money in this family, so I'm surprised that there is no sign of them. So having a bank manager as her father would be a strong possibility????????

Hopefully the marriage cert for Ella will land on the door mat in the next couple of days, fingers crossed the witnesses will be of some help.

I'll add to the thread as soon as the cert arrives.

Think we've all got those dreaded ancestry puzzles, got a feeling I'm still not gonna solve this one......... something from my gut tells me!!!

I've turned it upside down, inside out and shaked it all about..... and knowing that you, Dea and Julie have looked for me puts my mind at rest...... so I'm not "blinkered" on this one!!!

Ella Kirkland Bangham married Alfred Henry Davis.

Ella aged 21 yrs, Actress, address: 27 Powis Street, Woolwich. Father Thomas Kirkland Bangham (deceased) Physcian.

Alfred aged 23 yrs, Music Hall Artist, address: 69 Kellett Road, Brixton. Father George Davis, Builder.

Witnesses: George Barratt + C. Marchant.


Still can't see them in the 1911 census................ help please.

This one comes up on the 1911 if you give the occupation as "music hall",but I don't see Alf.:1911
