Hello,

I'm trying to find out some information our about my grandfather, his parents and as far back as possible. I've done ok with the rest of my family but am drawing a blank here..

William Henry Bailey (know as Harry) born 1922, died 1982. Lived and worked in Halifax, West Yorkshire. He had a sister called Jessie who was born in 1918, and a brother Horace 1923-1985.

I think his father was also called William Henry, and his mother possibly Sarah Hargreaves but I'm not at all sure.

I understand Grandpa was in the navy when he was young, but my father explains that he doesn't know enough about it as it was something he did not want to discuss at all upon his return. All I can recall is that he was on a ship that had 2 names, and began with an 'M' and had a french sounding name?

If you could help, or offer any advice in order that I can take my investigations further, it would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Nicola

John
