Find Ancestors

I have his marriage to Mary Jane Gill from Dunster 1870 in Gloucester, Piano Tuner, fathers name John a Druggist not stated as deceased so I assume was still living. Augustus moved to Manchester died there in 1886. 1871 shows born London c1848, 1881 shows born London c1851. No trace on 1851 or 1861 census of Augustus. I found John a Chemist on the 1841 & 1851 his wife was Sarah Elwin but augustus is not listed I also found Baptisms for John & Sarah's children..Augustus not included.. So this John has to be eliminated.Can anyone help as I have no idea where else to look.
