I am trying to find a marriage for my GGGrandmother ELIZA LEWIS and SAMUEL LAWLER around about 1855-1860 I have tried the PRO and found nothing to date, I was wondering if maybe there wasn't a marriage, but all the daughters are registered as Lawler, and on my grandmothers birth certificate it states Mothers maiden name as Lewis. Its a bit of a mystery what happened to Samuel, as Eliza is supposed to be widowed by the 1881 census, and yet on my grandmothers marriage certificate in 1897, he is stated as a coal porter, so where is he. The IGI list very few Samuel Lawlers'.
