Hi
Can anyone help me to find details of George's birth.
I have him and his family from the 1841 census in St. George, Hanover Sq. Mayfair, London and I believe he died December 1844.
Thanks
Steve Gepp

as a reference, is this them on the 1841 Census

Name Age
George Gepp 40
Elizth Gepp 40
Elizth Gepp 15
Sarah Gepp 14
Hannah Gepp 11
Jane Gepp 9

Address:- 74 Eaton Place Mews

George is a Male Servant

and NONE of them were born "in county", which means none of them were seemingly born in London.

Don't forget that ages of people over the age of 15 were usually rounded down to the nearest 5 on the 1841 Census

so George and Elizabeth could be any age between 40 and 44 ........... and the birth year could be between 1797 and 1801.

Thanks to all

Sylvia - I can confirm you have found the same family as me from the 1841 census thanks for the warning re the birth year - I will bear that in mind.

I have George's child Elizabeth b1825 in St.Marylebone, London from the IGI (LDS site). Maybe the Middlesex/London borders were different then than now.

Jax and Lindsey - is there any way we can confirm we have the right George?

Thanks again everyone - I will carry on looking - I am in need of sleep now - why did they all have to be called George!!
