Thanks ErikaH for the information you have provided. I'll bear what you say in mind in future. I have had contact with Jenny, she is a cousin but was long lost until recently.

Kindest,

Kathryn

Feel free to help with any query on any GR board!
Most of us have subs to either Ancestry or FMP.

Good afternoon all, just an update to let you know that I've found Mary and yes she has indeed passed. I've also managed to locate her husband whom I am now in contact with.

Thank you all for your help etc, very much appreciated.

Kindest regards,

Kathryn

Deaths on find My Past, Ancestry only officially go up to around 2007 from GRO indexes. After that, I think you'll find they are taken from death notices / Burial and cremation records, Find a Grave, probate (FMP), Burial records etc. by someone trawling through those records.

You'll find that the format of the transcript is different for the later ones with no district or Register numbers, rather partial post codes for a death record or it's a probate record transcript and they go almost up to current date.

So you won't find every death on the sites.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong about that.
