I too am a lurker, but have followed Fred's adventures with interest ever since I "discovered" them.

I shall miss them, but now is the time for you to have a little well-earned time for yourself, and OH, of course.

You have done a wonderful job caring for Fred.

Take care.

Over a hundred posts!

I can't believe that. What a fan base eh?

Thank you so much everybody for your kind thoughts and condolences.

I am surprisingly calm and happy, as was he at the end. It was a very gentle departure with a woman he was friendly with, he used to do her garden and she is a similar age to me, gently stroking his head. One of his harem I think.

It was not the stroke that killed him, he died of ninety- four so I was totally prepared to see him go. The old bugger!

That is just wonderful Sharron.

All anyone can wish for is a gentle departure with your loved ones around you.

You have every right to feel calm and happy...........and also very, very proud of yourself.

Bless his little cotton socks...........and yours!!

So pleased that all was calm and gentle, as he fully deserved. So fitting that a lady friend should be there too!

We will miss him even though we didn't meet him.
Through your writings we had a glimpse of the person Fred was, not a stroke victim.

Thinking of you and G.

I am so glad to hear that Fred had a calm and peaceful end.

That is what we would all wish for ourselves, and our near and dear ones.

Sharron ................. you can be very proud of what you and your OH did for Fred over the last 8 or 9 years.

Now, as others have said, it is time for you two to have some peace in your lives.
