	Hello I was wondering if someone could be able to find a death record for Rees Watkins and his son William Watkins, both of them were born and died in Neath. Rees was born in 1744, whilst William was born in 1775. I checked a death of a William Watkins in free bmd in 1842 and he can be discounted as he is the wrong person my thanks

	If you can't find burial records, how do you know where they died? What else do you know about the son? Did he marry? Did he father any legitimate children? How did you work back to these two? Have you looked for info at familysearch? Unless either lived till after July 1837. there won't be death records

	Burial records I mean Rees married Mary Evan in Neath and had several children, one of them was William. I worked back using baptism and marriage records, which date back to the 1730s

	When you asked is someone could find a death record for Rees I assumed you didn't know when he died. By " death record" do you mean his death certificate or burial place ?

	Sorry when I meant death record, I meant the year he died The 1839 death could be him, but he would be nearly 95

	The one with William having parents of Thomas and Elizabeth is inaccurate as I have been to the archives in Swansea. The index does not give a William Watkin born to Thomas or Elizabeth, only a Rees and mary

	To explain....... When people ask for info about what are assumed to be ancestors, they are generally supposed to have worked back from themselves to that person, or people So....how did you get back from yourself to William? If you are so sure about his wife's identity, one has to assume that one of his children with her is your direct, proven (backed up by documentation), line.

	I am descended from their son William. William is on the 1851, 1861, 1871 and 1881 census. It lists his year of birth as 1800, the last census being 1803. Looking at the baptisms, the only one that matches is William Watkin, baptised in 1818 aged 16. His parents were William, a labourer and Catherine The only marriage that fits in the entire index is the one with William and Catherine Reynold

	Not understanding " the last census being 1803" So which one of William's children are you descended from ? Who ever it is do you have a birth certificate for that child stating the maiden name of Catherine the mother ?.

	sorry, in the 1881 census, the last census he was on before he died, his birth year was given as 1803. I am descended from William's son William, born 1802. He had a son named William, born in 1835. He had a son named William, born 1858, he had a daughter named Rebecca, born in 1899. Rebecca's daughter Elvira is my grandmother. I don't have a birth certificate for William, just a baptism record for him in 1818
