Hi all,

I have just discovered this board today. I haven't read all of this thread but it seems appropriate for me. I am another member of the Citalopram club, currently on 40mg per day.
I have suffered from depression on & off for about 30yrs. I am much worse now & had to stop work in Oct 2007. This is due to a cumulation of events that started in 2003 when my (now ex) husband decided that we were growing apart.

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well today .Sorry that I have not been on for a few days and worried some of you and thanks for the pm's
Had a bad day saturday and the weather was awful so didn't go out .Yesterday no card or phone call for mother's day but then I wasn't really surprised just disappointed .My neighbours son's arrived with flowers ,chocs and cards and then took her out for a meal .I decided to keep myself busy so I power washed my walls for 6 hrs . Can hardly move today as my back has gone !!!
Did get a laugh yesterday when my sister phoned to say they had arrived at their holiday destination ( which is same city that son is in ) and had paid him a surprise visit .5pm and they got him out of his bed !!! He promised me that he had planned to phone me later but had forgotten it was MD .
Can I have a moan now ?
My pc is not working at all ( I am on son's old one at the mo ) My heating is either on or off as the clock has been broken since last easter and I am still waiting for the engineer .My dyson wont pick up dirt unless I crawl about on my hands and knees with the attachments my micro wave's clock doesn't work so I have no idea how long things are going to cook for .I have lost my camera , my favourite lipstick and my mum's wedding ring ( which I can't tell my sister as she would be so upset. I only mention it now as she is on hols and not likely to look into GR )
That's better got that off my chest so apart from the above and the phobias I am fine .

Gill, have a day taking it easy but come on this thread if you want comfort. Hopefully there will be more people around today, yesterday was very lonely on here.

Gill don't be on your own love, come on our thread, someone will be on all day, usually are. We don't like to see peeps upset so please come on here if nowhere else.

Carole, that's what I thought, but at the same time I got very upset and teary at the thought of them coming. I don't think I could face them now, they have hurt me so deeply it will take a long time.
My sister is also angry that they chose to do it when even I thought I had only three months left. What's hurt me more is that my youngest son, who seemed ok with me on phone didn't send a card either. He either lied to me or the others have got to him.

Caz I thought Mothers day would have been a good time for your lot to send a card and flowers just to say sorry for the upset, and lets start again! But so nice you did have a visit from your step daughter. Take it easy ! xx

My daughter and I escaped the football on TV Saturday and went shopping, had a stop in Asda coffee shop! She bought me some make up from Debenhams for Mothers day. Son ws working so I didn't see him until about six at night but he came in with a fondue set! No wrapping so he had just took it out of it's Sainsburys carrier bag! Oh had reminded him Saturday about Mothers day! We all went to my parents. Took a card and a basket of spring flowers.

I'm back to work after my weeks holiday today. I feel so tense, and sick. Wish I could go back to bed. I have been feeling very stressed the last few days. Feel like my blood is on the point of boiling. Does anyone know what I mean?

Thanks Liz, it will be a quiet day with my feet up but I am staying up all day. Step daughter will be up again next week for my birthday so we will have another long natter, haven't seen sight nor sound of my lot, but I feel relieved for the timie being.

Morning Liz, how are you today. Glad you had a nice day yesterday, I have missed peeps on here the last few days, last time I had computer on was Friday morning. All I wanted to do was get back to our thread for the comfort of friends, daren't put my feet down to come downstairs though. I has got me like a good book does, what is happening to who, has so-and so done this that or the other, surprised last night when no-one had posted for a while..
My step daughter came up for Mothers day and we had a lovely long chat, she went home with a lot of my cook books I am having to get rid of, they will get a good home. When she set up a home of her own, I bought her a couple of basic ones and a lot of kitchen stuff she needed. I had been showing her the simple recipes since she was 13 so she can do some good meals, but the smile on her face when she walked off with my 250 curries recipe book was a sight to behold.
Off for my first cuppa of the day now, it's half an hour after my bone tablet so I am allowed it, surprising how the first one sets you up for the day.
Elaine, I was so sorry to hear about your aunt, she will be at peace now.
If your reading Gail, a big wave and hello to you, hope you are ok.

Here briefly, had a busy day, an added bonus irritation was that Colleen's licence plate was stolen off her minivan last night.
My daughter took us out for lunch, and at the end, when the bill came, I nearly pmsl when our 7 year old dramatist,Em, said in her stage voice "does anyone have a VISA card". Everyone around us started to laugh, how healing a good laugh can be. Apparently the TV advert had informed her that you could pay for anything with your VISA card.
Tonight in the middle of our supper meal she asked what a "womb" was!!
Another meltdown by her grandmother, while her mother was shooting darts at me!! Couldn't help it, I'm aging, don't have the control I once had,LOL. I had been feeling tired and down all morning (tired of snow and frigid temps) but the 2 good belly laughs did me good.

Hi Carole, yes here I am, very tired but seem to get a second wind from somewhere as always.
I was very lucky and had a nice day with my son, 60 pink and purple tulips and a lovely card with nice words, he is well trained lol, and he cooked me a roast chicken dinner at his flat so I am happy. I was thinking about all who might not be having the same kind of day as me, for whatever reason. I agree with your post Ann of GG, but altho it is best to forgive and forget, hurts and slights do cause pain and usually to those who have done their best for their families, so I feel cross with those who didn't make an effort to make their Mums feel special today.
