Oh Hayley, that is so sad.

I have to admit to not liking Christmas anymore.
It was a wonderful time of my year, and thought it always would be, but no.
I try so to get into the spirit, but I can't do it.
The buying of presents is not anything that gets me going ,as we both do that all year round.

I don't know why I am so miserable, and I apologise to anyone who does not understand me.

Have the very best time you all can.
Once the shops have shut on Christmas Eve..... I will be able to relax.

God Bless you all.

((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))

i was looking forward o christmas until yesterday when my daughter announced she wasnt coming with the family to have chrsitmas lunch with us.
she will be staying at home to watch dvds in a place where SHE wants to be.
it will be the first christmas in22yrs that she wont be with the family to eat, also my son is celebrating with his own little family in their new house (i can understand this)
if we dont go with the family my other halfs father will be on his own and my mother is getting on - who knows if she will be here next christmas.
i feel torn in two
i wanted to take down all the decorations yesterday and hibernate until next year, i feel whats the point?
sorry i know alot of people are worse off than me, but i was looking forward to itl all until this happened.

I dont hate Christmas,I just dont enjoy it as much as I used to.As others have said, all the shopping, fighting your way through the crowds, trying to think what to buy for presents, not to mention all the preparing and cooking of food etc.I think its a time for people with small children, when theyve grown up its not the same is it ?

I'm not over keen on Christmas, when you are hard up there is an awful lot of pressure to get into debt to buy presents and goodies, that will go out of day before you eat them. (I do like seeing the small children getting excited in the town centre in the run up though)
We will go to my parents Christmas morning and stay over until the morning of the 27th. we will then come home rip the decorations down, stick em back in the loft and clean the house ready for a sparkling and hopefully happier 2008

Thankgod it isn't just me...............I hate Christmas, I find I get really down and depressed, I started yesterday with the tears as the thought of Christmas really gets me down.............It's not that I have lost anyone close at Christmas but I've lost Mum and she adored Christmas and made it so special it just hasn't been the same since 2005..................

I'm dreading Christmas Eve as that is when Mum liked to have a drink and a laugh and get the Christmas fun started and Christmas day I just want to hide away all day.

It puts my mind at ease that it isn't just me who gets tearful at the thought of what is coming in the next week or so

I am sorry that so many of you are not looking forward to and don't enjoy christmas. I think I have said before that my Dad died on christmas day 2001. We will raise a glass to him, but we will remember how he so loved christmas and we wont be sad for him. He had a very good life and was 93 when he died.

I still love Christmas, fortunately now we are retired the present buying has not been so frantic as we have been able to space it out. Also with the internet some of the shopping has been on line. i don't miss the times when I was frantically searching the shops for the latest must have for the grandsons. The two youngest seem to be easier to please. We will be with daughter and her husband and the three Grandsons who, no doubt will only be seen at present opening and meal times so it will be quite relaxed and all my meals will be cooked for me. we have 3 uncomfortable nights on a futon bed but we will cope and it is lovely to see them.
