A foundation that helps the street kids in Colombia--children and babies live in the streets and are often murdered just to "reduce" their numbers!!

The Pink Fund grew spontaneously out of our affection and admiration for Gaynor and Diana's determination to raise money.

I never give to animal charities, some people don't give to religious charities etc.

A lovely idea but it may not work.

I don't think you will ever get everyone to agree on one charity. We did with the Pink fund because of Gaynor, we did with SADS because of Jennifer. If we went with the Air Ambulance - Which county, they all raise money separately (maybe a few counties are grouped). difficult isn't it?

As somebody said, we all have our favourite charities which we support.. I am not trying to be negative Diana, but how do we choose?

Ann is right of course, and for as many members who vote, there will be an equal number of charities nominated to support!

My vote would be the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's.

I don't suppose it will be a popular choice, but these diseases, and particularly Crohn's are affecting more people and at a younger age. Believe me, it blights their lives. No-one knows why it is getting more common.

There is no cure.

My son was diagnosed with Crohn's disease aged 25 so I know the misery it causes.

Here just a little info as not many people have heard about them
Mustard Seed Communities commenced over 20 years ago as a home for abandoned and handicapped children. Mustard Seed Communities has diversified its activities over the years and now runs housing projects, community projects, economic projects and a home for pregnant teenagers.
The core purpose of the organization is to care for abandoned handicapped children. To this end Mustard Seed Communities now cares for over 220 children across Jamaica, Nicaragua, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The organization is currently constructing a home for AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe.
