Thank you those who have repied in a positive manner. I have noticed that posts have been deleted and posts have been changed. But then again as they say in the UK, 'Hay Ho' Well, there does not seem much interest in a meet. Such a shame. Deb

Debs, Well done for trying! I think there probably would be interest in a meet but people can maybe see it is not really practicable. Much as I would enjoy it I didn't come on the thread and say so because we are away so much and also we would not be prepared to travel a long distance to one. Human nature being what it is you would probably get only one faction of the gen board there as people who have decided 'against' other people will not be prepared to risk it. I think the only way we will reach any sort of peace on the board is for everyone to decide to just ignore/stay off provocative threads, not to 'stoke fires'. And, if people have decided they 'don't like' other people, for them to ignore their posts. If you fall out with somebody in real life (remember this is not real life), you don't deliberately cross the road to speak to them. sorry you have been disappointed debs, it was a good idea to try. I echo Ann 's thoughts It was worth a try, sad that your thread went pear-shaped. Maybe as things seem to have settled down on the board now (crosses fingers, toes and legs) others will see this and a meet may be arranged.

i think it was a great idea if it was centralized then it makes it easier for most people i would love to see it work

I love the idea of a mega meet, Deb, in principle. Having been out of the country for a while, I am still catching up on threads. Maybe if I ever get over to Vancouver to see my distant cousin, I'll see you too; I hope so.

Deb Vancouver (18665) Report 9 Aug 2007 06:29

I'm not a quitter! I'm thinking of late June/early July for the meet, (the airfare is better for me then). I would need to know how many are interseted in this time frame. I will post a thread asking such. If there are enough in response (now) , I will look into venues ASAP. If we do go ahead, I would need a commitment in the way of a cash deposit for those interested. I will post a seperate thread asking who is interested. Deb Deb

Hi Lin! I'm good thanks. I don't mind organising the event. I have done 3 in the past. The hard part is getting people to commit and then pay for tickets! Deb
