We lived in Chippenham between 1990-1997 whilst I worked in Trowbridge. Delightful part of the country.

J* Near M3.Jct4 Report 2 Jul 2009 21:59

I have been around for a few years and never seen this thread before.

My paternal ancestors are from the village of Amesbury, a lovely little place in Wiltshire, by the names of Truckle and Abraham/Abrahams.
Also Parham from Bishopstrowe and Mines from Corsley.

Dear All

Hello

Ah yes, Wiltshire.

Not many people seem to have ancestors from this area.

I am searching for my great-grandparents x8 and their parents
who lived in Wooton Rivers and Burbage from at least the 1760's.

Some of my ancestors left Wiltshire and travelled across South England.

I have got definite info up to 1793, then it becomes a bit confused.

Oh well, I shall have to keep on searching!

Best wishes to all
xx

Ann I was just about to reply to Sue to say it was good to see her back - thenI noticed the date LOL!!

Did keep in touch for a while but somehow it sort of petered out when i lost MSN. Have often wondered how she is. Wondering now who resurrected this thread?

Hi Everyone - It seems I've been resurrected - and thanks to Marly for an email telling me so! I thought I'd better pop in to let you know I am still alive and kicking! It's been one of those years, and I just haven't had the time to browse GR or do any relly-hunting since about March. It's nice to see that there are others in Wiltshire - and on the border! I live about a mile from the border with Somerset, so hi to those of you in the Frome and Southwick area. Best wishes to all, and hopefully if there's a get-together in the next few months I'll manage to come along. It would be good to catch up with old friends and meet some of you newer GR members. Sue
