Kim, We had a similar situation last year. We were out in a playbarn/pub, and could see an older couple at the next table looking at us. When they got up to leave, they said it was lovely to see all the kids behaving so well. What a compliment!! |

Well done Clare... I have posted on your anniversary thread too :-) Have you thought about making your own sign on the PC and printing it off and getting it laminated? Then you could attach one of those 'sucker' things and stick it to Car window.... LOL Shaz x |

Shaz, You should be very proud of your lot!! You've obviously done a grand job!! And, I guess whenever we need a friendly ear to moan about those nasty looks or comments, we know we've got some allies. |

lol good on ya, we were in majorca october with all the kids, every night at dinner this old couple would sit whispering about us, i kept saying to my hubby im gonna say something, then one night they came over to us, i was sat ready for a slanging match and she said i have to say every night i see you all sat here and i said to my husband how well behaved they all were lol, i felt really bad as id done nothing but moan about them, goes to show you some people can be nice lol... i know its nice when you get a compliment but im sick of being stared at when we all go out....it makes my blood boil... maybe we should write to channel 4 and ask them to do something on working class people bringing up children, so they can see we aint all spongers lol kimxxx |

Wifey.... I can see the faces now.... I have seen them too!! LOL I must admit because I was unmarried and young when I started my family and was lucky enough to stay young looking for a while (until they started to hit teens) people thought I was just immature and of course my kids would be dragged up and would all start familys young etc etc. (By the way I was unmarried but not a single parent) Well my oldest started University in September and my next started College, my next is taking their GCSE's this year and intends to stay on at school just as my eldest did. So I am proud already and the rest have still to grow up! My eldest had a comment made to him one day though about 'Students' Layabouts, scroungers, workshy, you know the stuff. I wish I could have been there when he turned round and replied... oh I am not workshy at all I have worked in the same place for over two years now part time and I dont get time to lay about with Uni and work and as for being a scrounger... I pay my mum board every week!! Hold your head up girls!! Shaz x |

I totally ignore any dirty looks, and try even harder to be a great mum!! As for McDonalds - we had one yesterday, blimin' yummy, but definitely not cheap, even though the youngest 5 all have happy meals. |

paula, another one of hubbys tricks is when they ask, are they all yours? he says yes and we are having another 5, obviously we are scum by the expressions we get. talking of macdonalds, god it costs a bloody fortune now esp as the older 2 have a large meal, don't go there that often now |

I don't work, but hubby earns a wage good enough to keep us. To be honest, after paying for childcare it wouldn't be feesible for me to. |
