My last reply tonight - I am an oldie ,remember. As the fellow on Monty Python used to say 'Right, I,m going to stop this sketch. It,s all getting very silly ' Conscription - I wouldn,t wish the winter of 1951 on anyone, but I agree with the general thought - as perhaps 'Bad Boys' on television half proved. |

I would bring back - respect, discipline, conscription, (we used to have Boot Camps in those days they were called) Borstals - if we had those back maybe then we could move on to other things. Ann |

I agree with Ann, there's no respect and discipline any more and 'back in the old days' LOL the call-up made gents out of most of the urchins I ever knew. Maybe they didn't do 1951 eh. I wish my grand-daughters were free to wander the fields like we used to and just enjoy being kids - having said that, all the fields are being built on now, so that's that down the Swanee. J |

Few people had a television or a car. We made our own fun. It was nice to rush outside when the milkman came with his horse and cart and give Dobbin a slice of bread. I love those memories. Jo. |
