This witch will rot in Hell and I`ll not be sad when the day comes, infact will be out with the flags. Have heard if she does write a book, the papers will name her. So hopefully she writes the book, then we just let the mobs/public deal with her.The lying scum of the earth, only 2nd to Ian huntley

Lets be honest Bob everything she needs is paid for by the Tax payer so she won't be sat on a checkout somewhere I just think she is being unfair to the families involved. Jan

Bobtanian Report 20 Feb 2005 22:27

I suppose that writing a book, behind closed doors(probably) is less obvious than sitting on the checkout at a supermarket, and pays more.......eventually.

Janette

Janette Report 20 Feb 2005 22:22

I'm not disputing that but to want to write a book is putting HERSELF into the limelight Jan

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 20 Feb 2005 22:18

Jan, how can she just 'slip out of the limelight'? there is always going to be someone that knows, or think they know who, and where she is. and worse still, someone that WANTS to find herl

Janette

Janette Report 20 Feb 2005 22:08

No Budgie I don't If she showed any remorse and wanted people to accept her she should of sunk into the background and got on with her life, not right a book She obviosly likes the limelight Jan

Janette Report 20 Feb 2005 21:33

I have never said she helped in the murders or that she was there. But she gave him an alibi and carried on lying for him, so she is guilty of perverting the cause of justice so why should she profit from it. Surely she was suspious when he asked for an alibi, if he had nothing to hid he wouldn't need one, and at one stage she admitted that he used to act oddly some times, so under those circumstances why give him the alibi Jan

I really don't understand why anyone would have any curiosity about this book (supposing it is written). If she is not going to write about the murders she is basically going to write about the domestic life of two people. Why would that be interesting? The only angle I can logically work out is that readers would want to know what it was like to live with a murderer. That is profitting from a crime, that she DID have a hand in because she was convicted of, At the very LEAST, perjury, wasn't she? I think she may be allowed to write it though because publishers would not stake that amount of money on a slim chance would they? Perhaps they have seen through a legal loophole and that is how they will get their profits even though he hasn't written the book, as it was his horrendous crime that has made her life with him interesting to them. Yuk Abigail

As far as I am aware Maxine Carr lied, but she wasn't present at the murders and didn't help to cover them up. I am not condoning her, but all over the world murderers are able to con others into supporting them because they don't want to believe someone they live with could be guilty. That is an understandable reaction, however wrong it is to lie. How many people when they saw Ian Huntley being interviewed on tv after the girls' disappearance immediately thought 'I bet he's murdered them?' Not me. Would that be your first reaction if you lived with someone and two girls you both knew disappeared - would you immediately think 'I bet you've done it?' I don't think Maxine Carr should be punished for what Ian Huntley did. But I also don't think that this proposed book is a good idea either. If the British public weren't so prurient no publisher would contemplate the idea. nell

Janette Report 20 Feb 2005 18:54

The truth is She help cover up his involvement and put those poor families thruogh even more hell, whichever way you look at it she's guilty and shouldn't be allowed to make money out of it Jan

Bev No babe you aren't wrong, obviously wants the best of both world, Wonder what her pen name will be 'LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE' would suit. If she does pubish she should pay every penny back and lose the protection Jan

PolperroPrincess

PolperroPrincess Report 20 Feb 2005 18:22

Forgive me if I am wrong but was it not long ago she wanted taxpayers money to give her protection and anonymity? So how can she justify writing a book? Please correct me if this isnt right Bev

Janette

Janette Report 20 Feb 2005 18:20

Budgie Technically you have it right, at least that was her version of events, but anyone in there right mind, wouldn't give someone an alibi under these circumstances. And I think this is why people loath her why did she lie for him and if she was afraid of him thr police would of protected her Jan

McDitzy

McDitzy Report 20 Feb 2005 18:17

Out of order. There should be a law against profitting from murder/aiding..... I know she didn't do it personally, but she kept schtum about it, didn't she?

Unknown

Unknown Report 20 Feb 2005 18:13

Budgie I tend to agree with you - she's certainly not a person to be admired in any way but I don't think she's the monster that she can be portrayed as. Having said that I think her writing a book is in very bad taste and inadvertantly she would be making money from Huntly's crimes - I wouldn't want to read it. Wonder which paper will win the battle to serialise the memoirs of the woman they've villified?

PolperroPrincess

PolperroPrincess Report 20 Feb 2005 18:09

Be interesting to know if she pockets the money or gives it to a worth while cause! I for one wont be buying her book as I have no intentions of lining her pocket! Bev

Val Report 20 Feb 2005 18:06

I am sorry but I have to say I don't believe she didn't know I think she knew more than she let on if she told them she knew she would still be inside I don't think she is as stupid as she makes out
