There is a bright shiny thing in the sky about due south of me at the moment. I have watched it for the past three nights. Does anyone know if it is the Space Station? |

I am being serious. I know the Space Station was in that location a few months ago. And of course it moves away to the west as the earth revolves so it wouldn't be due south in the morning. |

If any one wants to find out about the space station, or anything NASA, then google NASA or J Pass 2.0.... The space station always rises in the west and traverses roughly towards the east, , it varies. depending on where the sun is, at the time, it will either rise OUT of eclipse, or move INTO eclipse, traverse time is about 8 to 10 minutes The station orbits aprox. every 90 minutes. but only occasionally over the UK, and you can bet your bottom 50p piece that whenever its supposed to be visible, the sky clags over. |

if its not moving its a star, not the station. The station when visible is about as bright as that one is..... There are numerous satellites that could be visible, if we had a clearer sky. some move quite slowly...usually south to north. the sky here is so clagged over can hardly see the moon |

The station, if the sky permits should be visible tomorrow morning from 06:20 till 06:30. however at 06:22 it comes OUT of eclipse, and visible all the way across till it sets. It should rise a few (10)degrees south of the moon, and curve across the sky, setting about SE. just north of pluto, and mars. these times are centred on peterborough and will be different Elswhere in the UK. By the way, if YOUR sky is clear, you will have ORION just right of south. and there are two very bright stars in that constellation. |

Ok Lynn I've checked the location and you should see it if the sky is good............06:20-06:22till 06:30 it rises slowly at first, then as it goes 'over head' (actually will be in the south of the sky)it moves quite quickly, and then slows as it sets...... facing south, it rises on your right arm and sets to your left. |
