Hi Deb. Did you ever watch the movie Arachnophobia. My Mate used to keep one in his bedroom. It was on his wall near the ceiling. I said to him, i dony know how you sleep in here at night. He replied. They keep the flies and insects away. They dont bother me, as long as i can see e'm. I surpose they have a pupose, and they seem to sense you if you are going to give them a wallop. Interesting little creatures, spiders. Tony Ozx

My late grandmother, was petrified of spiders as is my sister and my eldest son. They are even afraid of the 'itsy bitsy spiders' It must be genetic! Lindy;-)

My mum once, when i was little screamed the house down coz there was a spider in the bathroom. She blocked up the door with towels and rang my dad at work and told him to get home it was an emergency!!! He was not amused when he found out it was a spider.!!

Susie. My wife once rang me at work, and told me there was a Huntsman in the Gas heater in the lounge room. I said, turn the heater on and cook him. I'm not going home, my wfe said . Where are you i said. I'm at mums. 5 miles away. I had to go home and get it out. Tony Oz

i cant believe that people actually get NEAR these creatures!! lol i wont go anywhere near them! if i see a spider i jump on the back of the sofa and cry!! lol i then sit and wait for hubby to come home from work to remove it he spends all night chasing it round the room ,moving furniture out because i wont let him go anywhere until its GONE!!! lol susie

O'h yes Debra. They jump alright. First they stand up ( there little eyes wotchin ya every move ) Then when ya least expect it... ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH.... they eat ya. LOL.

For all those frightened of spiders. So was I, until my hubby started to give any that came into the house, a name. I feel so much better about them now. We have a resident that comes out occassionally called Fred. I still lift my legs up onto the sofa though, until he's gone :)))) Chrissie

Being thick didn't know what a Huntsman Spider was - just Googled it and got a description and a picture ..... Yuk, yuk, yuk.... If that had been sitting looking at me you wouldn't see me for dust...long gone. But....live and let live......scoop it up and let it outside Kxx
