Are these the same as 'shag ' bands? They were banned from a school that my husband worked at in Staffordshire because they meant that the friendship had been taken 'further'. I've never heard of them. Louise |

Teri - look in the pound shop until they are sure of what they are doing - then you can splash out 4 quid for a pack!!! Louise - NO they definitely are NOT those things!!!! These are not made into bracelets, they are just decorations. They are being made my 5 year olds and up! Maz. XX |

Haven't noticed anything here in Harwich, but I used to make them when I was a primary going back 30 years ago nearly. Lets hope those other things don't come back. Do you remember the two hard balls on string that you held on a loop at the end and tried to smash together, must have nearly broken my hand with those, and the thing similar with one ball you put the loop on your foot and skipped around it, many bruises with that one. |

I've just seen the website. They're like the plastic laces that my daughter had in a blu tac craft kit. Goodness only knows what the bracelets look like that the Staffordshire kids are making. Louise |

Diane in Essex - I've not bought online but use the websites to see what there is available and how many different things you can make. One is www*Lambstoys*co*uk and the other is called Danis Scoubiworld. Just google scoubidous and there are quite a lot. Our local craft shop sells them, but I could get them cheaper online so may well do that at the rate my daughter is getting through them. They definitely do not have a hidden meaning by the way! Thats it. Oh the sore hands we suffered with those. They were quite brutal looking back. Reckon they would be banned now. |

Apparently the kids are even selling them to the kids who can't make them. Anne x |

Well apparantly I'm a brain box!!!! Not really - she made me a blue and white one because I support Spurs, though it's pale blue so think I've suddenly become a Man City supporter!! Still it's the thought that counts. Kxx |

My grandchildren are scoubydou mad! The eldest was 12 on Sunday and one of her presents was a big bag of them - florescent, glittery and giant ones that you could use for drinking straws! My eldest son (33) still has the blue and yellow one my younger daughter made for him about 18 years ago. (He supported Wimbledon, but now AFC Wimbledon!) I remember making them in the 1960s and grandkids are most impressed that I can still make them even at my great age! LOL Were they called LoobyLous then? I'm just going to look at the web sites suggested - might get some ideas that I can show off to the grandchildren with! LOL Sue xx |
