Hi chicken and Sandra, Hilda Baker is the most famous person I know from farnworth. Here in Chorley we have Ken Morley aka Reg Holdsworth. Use to see him driving round in a pink cadillac, believe he's moved now. Dave Spikey lives in Chorley these days but hails from Bolton.

Hi Chicken, Use to work with a lady who worked at Farnworth labour exchange and could remember Hilda B signing on there, quite often in a fancy fur coat and lots of bling. Believe at one time she had a chippie somewhere in Farnworth. Frank Finley's a Farnworth lad, worked with his niece in Bolton.

Chicken Now then lets see......... The Neville brothers went to my sons school in Bury, and moving towards you, I went to the same school as Victoria Wood (not at the same time though) on the Radcliffe border. And what about good old Fred (Dibnah) for Bolton? Part of his funeral procession went passed my Office....before I started working there though. Regards Bev X

If we're talking about famous peope who came/lived /appeared in the same places as us....... In the 70's I used to see Chris Bonnington in Tesco's in Carlisle. My mate did the plumbing for Suzie Quatro in her house in the darkest depths of Essex in the 80's. I saw Rory Bremner in a little village near here about 3 years ago, and I saw Jilly Cooper at a point to point 2 weeks ago ( wonder what her next novel will be about) lol maggie
