Apart fom the queen there was a rumour that Johnny Depp visited St. Helens cos he's friends with Johnny Vegas. Go drinking in that pub and I never seen him. Would have liked to though!!!! |

I forgot.... I believe King Alfred lived here (amongst other places). Keats was here, Jane Austin died here, Martin Bashir lives here. I suspect quite a few children of wealthy parents were here..............Oh and a famous chef or two worked at the Hote du Vin I believe. Belching Ron (always appears on southern TV programmes about the homeless) has a nice flat here!!! I may go on later!! maggie |

Barbra Casttle lived 2 miles north east..Jackie and Elaine Yelding (white clown and Elephant trainer Chipperfields Circus and good friends) 2 miles north west ..major ness (Chipperfields) 500 yds East and an Emerdale actor who's name I cant remember 1 mile south west....bumped into many celebs when I worked for the Brewery... Roger Whittaker used to use the same Sainsburys in the 80's |
