A true story. We had two cats, Nikki and Willum. One summers day a one eyed cat walked in the back door and made himself at home. He completely dominated our two cats and wouldn't let them eat until he had finished. He had a name tag, with a telephone no. which we called every day, but there was no answer. Near the end of the second week we did receive an answer. It was the neighbour of the owners, who was so worried as the owners had gone on holiday and the cat had disappeared the same day. The owners were coming home the following day and we promised to call them. The cat, however disappeare from our house that day, and we never saw it again. We assume that it thought that as the owners had gone on their hols, he would too, and when they came back, he went home. The name of this one eyed cat? MANDOO. David |

I named my two after two of my favourite tipples - Bollinger and Budweiser - so if you like Bacardi Breezer, why not? (By the way, if I had got a third cat it was going to be called bacardi!) J |

Kaz I won't give you any more suggestions for a name (although I agree Shadow is lovely), I'll just tell you a story about how one of our cats got her name After my younger son's cat, Gizmo, was killed by a car, a friend who worked in a pet shop told us about a kitten they had. She was 6 weeks old and her mother had abandoned her - she wasn't much older than a kitten herself - and she was being hand reared. We fell in love with this kitten. She's mostly black with some dark brown and with a ginger tip to her tail. When we were allowed to bring her home, son (then aged 7) couldn't decide on a name. We had lots of suggestions from friends and family but couldn't agree on any. Then the little girl next door came in and asked if she could see the baby kitty cat. That was when son decided on her name - Kitty! Original isn't it? LOL She's almost 14 now and still our Kitty Cat and still gorgeous and she's lying on my lap purring now as I type this :o) Sue xx |

Gerri sleepless, I love the name, lol. But beware, when you are outside calling Mouse,Mouse, you may have all the men in your street rushing round to your house with mouse traps and cheese, all ready to save you from Mouse. Shirley. |

I think the name out of the hat idea is a good one with a modification - If you are TRULY disappointed with the name you pull out then it's not meant to be and you get to draw again!! You've had some lovely suggestions though and I would be hard pressed to choose too! |

I have just been talking to some Icelandic people about cats funnily enough and Cat in Icelandic more or less translates as 'Casey' which i think is quite cute |
