Can't imagine you there with needle and thread Linda, all that patience required! :)) Julie, the apron was green&white stripe, easy shape, and when finished you had to chain-stitch your initials on it, Mum ended up doing that bit, I couldn't even thread up one of those sewing machines, this was 1967! :))

Good idea Linda! :)) We had to do a cross-stitch picture, to be framed for the wall, I can remember the teacher saying, ''it must look as neat on the back, as it does on the front'', course, mine was all knots and bobbles! :))

Good morning Gwynne and everbody. I am feeling a little bleary eyed this morning. I think another cup of tea is called for. Went mad yesterday and blitzed the house in the morning and then spent the afternoon ironing. So today, I am doing absolutely nothing. Its very grey and overcast here in Doncaster and according to the weather forecast I am watching the forecast is 'more rain - less sun'. Never mind, I'll just stop on here then. Jenny

Christine and Linda, Much as I hate mending I used to love embroidery and dressmaking. I also loved making theatrical costumes. Sadly now I have carpal tunnel syndrome I don't have the dexterity for fine sewing but I still drag the machine out to make costumes. Gwynne

Yes, Nanna's friend used to embroider, she did some lovely work, it must be relaxing, I used to love all those different coloured embroidery cottons, I used to play with those! :)) (oops!, hadn't better mention 'colours' today Gwynne!) :)) How is your hand now Gwynne?

Embroidery is very relaxing. It's easy to pick up and put down so I always used to have something on a frame. Time I did something useful. Hope to catch you all later, Gwynne

Gwynne, A friend suggested Barley as its name, but I am not sure which to go for!! We have 5 adults and 6 lambs plus 2 baby goats and they are all pets. Parsley was the last of triplets and mum was too tired to bother with him Jill xxx:).

Oh Julie, all those pretty sequins, we used to sew them on a bit of ribbon with two arm-holes in, for our Trolls! :)) Nanna used to take me and my cousin into Town on a Saturday, and I used to love that Haberdashery dept, all those buttons, I used to collect the pretty ones, still have the tin here!, and those pretty ostrich-feathers! we used to play with them! :))
