My beautiful dress cost me £1400 last year - got married 1 May 2004. I wasn't planning on spending that much money but I couldn't find anything else I liked cheaper - and believe me I looked! My Husband to be didn't mind - he just wanted me to have whatever I was happy with. It must have been worth the money as he cried when he saw me walk down the aisle because - he said - I looked so beautiful! Bless. Kaye x |

Wendy, Yes, I can see how your son was confused, bless him. Do you still talk to your sister? What a thing for her to do, can't get my head around it! |

£25 in 1972, was later used by sister and 2 sister-in-laws. still in lovely condition wrapped in black tissue and in a box. was hoping to cut up for christening gown but daughter-in-law didn't want a dress (christening gown) for her 2 sons (hopefully have a granddaughter next) Sue |

£10 second hand in 1971 (that included lovely headress veil and shoes) I bought it off a girl I worked with I loved it a very plain dress with the most gorgeous lace coat. I gave it to a friend of my husbands girl friend as they had no money then they didn't get married after all never got my dress back. hope it did get used as it was nice. Quite classy at the time. My wedding dress was second hand because it was in 1949 and clothes were still rationed in England and it cost 10 pounds. By the way, I still have it but it won't fit me now! Best wishes from Sylvia in WA XX |

My dress was £450 3 years ago. I took it all the way to Jamaica, got married in a Gazebo in tropical gardens, walked through the hotel and onto the beach for more photos and the one of the groom with the garter in his teeth (whilst still on my leg!) to the cheers of the other holiday makers who were mostly Americans and very loud! When we got back to England, I wore it again for my wedding reception. Not many people can say they wore the same dress twice!! Currently in the loft, with all the other wedding outfit accessories - hopefully my daughter my want to wear it. |
