Mine cost nearly £1000 in a sale at Bride Be Lovely in Manchester, It ended up down a rubbish shoot by mistake when moving house and the marraige didnt last too long either, but for my second marriage I paid £1 for a lovely top to go with a skirt I already had and it looked fabulous, just goes to show money doesnt by you happiness and this marriage is still going strong after all these years. |

I paid £24 in 1969 for a sleeveless long satin dress with a lace overcoat from Oxford Street London.Had planned to alter the lace coat into a dressing gown, never did as we didn't have an inside bathroom and loo at the time and would have had to walk down the aisle to the bottom of the garden! Borrowed veil and headress,my daughter is now looking at wedding dresses of £800 plus, wonder if she would like to wear mine? Brenda |

About £50 in a sale in 1979.......... it was horrible but the longest one that they had and then they had to add a frill on the bottom aswell. I knew I should have made one. I was a bit miffed though as the exhusband had a £300 suit and his shirt cost £25 quid, (we had been living together and so it came out of the same budget)............ I'd thought it was supposed to be the brides day????? That really should have been a hint!!!!!! :-) Mandy |

My dress was £450 3 years ago. I took it all the way to Jamaica, got married in a Gazebo in tropical gardens, walked through the hotel and onto the beach for more photos and the one of the groom with the garter in his teeth (whilst still on my leg!) to the cheers of the other holiday makers who were mostly Americans and very loud! When we got back to England, I wore it again for my wedding reception. Not many people can say they wore the same dress twice!! Currently in the loft, with all the other wedding outfit accessories - hopefully my daughter my want to wear it. |
