Good idea Yvette, although I'm hoping to be sold out!!! Show starts 7.30 but if you want a lift you'll need to be here well before that! Don't forget your sleeping bag. Hope to make the next meet. Daisy

Yes, I echo Christine's thanks for getting the arrangements off the ground Shirley Ann. I did notice in the Best Pubs book that the Linden Tree is closed from 3pm to 5pm. I don't know if that is peculiar to them or a condition imposed on all BSE pubs by the local licensing authority. May be worth checking with whichever pub you choose. The only thing that perturbs me about this meet is........... I do seem to be outnumbered by all these fine Ladies. Perhaps I may be allowed to get a few words in during the course of the afternoon. ;) K

I will take another trip to Bury in the next week two, as i prefer to speak to the people at the venue in person rather than over the phone. i might even check out more venues if its not pouring with rain again. Oh such hard work having to have a drink in each pub ? Shirley Ann.

Yes, im afraid i did have a few vodkas yesterday, in each venue. Sandwiches is a good idea, now why didn't i think of that ? I will make enquiries and find out the cost, i think if i cater for 20 that should cover it. i can always let them know nearer the time if its more or less. Shirley Ann.

Shirley, it sounds like you've been busy today, so you really deserved those vodka's! I agree with Frances, sandwiches may well be the best way to go. Yvette

I made it to Bury today. went to The Linden, it was packed , nice place, children friendly, but very full. Hubby and i had to stand up all the time we were there. meals start at around £10.00. Then i went a bit further up and went into the IpswichArms( which i forgot to mention Joanne) but didn't stop for a drink, the sawdust got in my shoes.lol. Not far from the station is a pub called the Bushall, The food is home made, plenty of room, and not crowded. But i must add it is not posh. but hubby and i tried out the food and it was really nice, and plenty of it. it only cost £13.00 for the two of us. The only problem being, most pubs stop cooking at 2pm. but i thought if and when i know for sure how many are coming, i could phone the Bushall and ask if they would mind doing meals about 2.30pm. as otherwise they don't start cooking again until 6.30. I got a bit wet, as it was pouring with rain, but the vodkas helped. Shirley Ann.

I think up to now we have 8 names that are hopefully coming. Shirley Ann. Joanne Reeder. Frances of Norwich. Guy de Hoghton. Christine Houslander. Joy Kentish Town. Suffolk Newbie (might) Yvette PinkSarara. Malc Gentle Giant (might) Just Jo I hope to get to Bury today, thats if i can get away from work early enough to get to venues before they close. If i dont make it today, i will have to do it next week, we have plenty of time. up to now i think The Linden Tree, might be the one, as it is near the station, and it has good food. i need to find out if it is child friendly , for those that may want to bring children. If i don't think i am going to get there today i will let you all know later. and i will ring them and ask about children. (i may get there yet) Shirley Ann.
