CB, Does Jeff know or heard of 'British Sea Power'? They are a current band, if he has heard of them or has either of their albums then he will have heard a single of theirs called 'Remember Me'. It's just that I've heard the strangest and most amusing cover of that song this afternoon on the radio by none other than The Wurzels of 'I've Got A Brand New Combine Harvester' fame. If he's heard of them, it might amuse/horrify (delete where applicable) him

CB, Gwynne do you remember when Peter Frampton won the Face of 1968? I was more a Gary Taylor fan, the deep voice, until he dissed Reggae on Radio one then his name was mud lol. Peter Frampton in Humble Pie with the Brilliant Steve Marriott awesome. CB I was talking to a Reggae Artist on the phone he is known as Dandy (His two big hits were 'Suzanne Beware Of The Devil' & 'Rudy A Message To you' & Rock Steady later covered by the Body Snatchers) he was telling me the story behind a Doris Troy album I have called 'Strenchin' Out' he produced it in 1973 she was desperate for some dosh & he did the Album to help her out as she was bankrupt and a very heavy drinker, poor Doris is dead now 2004 I think she died. 'Just One Look' the Hollies nicked it didn't they? She is also on loads of Rock Stuff including 'Dark Side Of The Moon'. Pat x

Pat, Oh yes, I remember 'The Face of 1968' - and absolutely gorgeous it was. Only guy around who could give Scott Walker a run for his money. Funny you should mention The Hollies and Just One Look. I've recently bought a greatest hits compilation of theirs and was playing it this morning. I've said on other threads that the Hollies harmonies were things we used to sing at school, along with the Four Seasons, etc. Raucous bunch we were! LOL I saw the Small Faces once, quite close to. They were really tiny, skinny little things and looked like they were in a competition for who had the most spots! I remember Dandy too. I just wish I'd kept all the old records I had from the 60s, but I sold them when I was hard up - for peanuts. Things we do for money! LOL Andy, I don't know if Jeff's heard of British Seapower, but there's nothing of theirs in his CD collection, which is vast. Given the seafaring family history, it would be quite appropriate. I'll mention it to him. Oooh Arrr - I know he definitely be a-hearin' of them there Wurzels though! LOL (Bit off your beaten track though?!) >*|*<

I thought Scott Walker was gorgeous too CB. If I'd had a son I wanted to call him Scott or Cliff. You see, we were just as barking in those days LOL:)) My memory, that I bet no-one has heard of is comedian Ted Lune. You would have to be pretty old because even I was only about 8 when he took me into a milk bar and bought me a milk shake:))

I remember Peter Frampton and Leif Garrett. I used to be a big UFO fan, bet not many people remember them! It had Phil Mogg and Michael Schenker in and they did Doctor Doctor amongst other things(not the naff doctor doctor the Thompson twins did).

I saw the Walker brothers at the Coventry Theatre. Scott was gorgeous. I have some of his solo CDs. Gwynne

I used to like the Spencer Davis Group as well, but one of my favourite songs from those days was Any Day Now by the Alan Price Set (Alan formerly of Animals fame). I don't know if he wrote it, but it really suited his voice. Steve Winwood still seems to be going strong. He's on some of my Jools Holland CDs. Great to see him trawling in all the old names, as well as newer ones to guest on his shows and albums. >*|*<

I adored Scott Walker still think he is gorgeous & still well talented. I have a 1960's Dusty Springfield show on Video which I keep because Scott sings 'Matilda' on it :-))) Some of his songs had very strange lyrics. Thats why I liked Gary Taylor in the Herd because he sounded a bit like Scott lol. CB I liked the Hollies & voted them the best group from Manchester I love 'King Midas in Reverse' :-))) I loved the Small Faces too, Steve Marriott's death was so tragic. Dandy lives in Jamaica since 1980's I am still in contact with him but not very often. Pat x

Hi Pat, A lot of Scott's stranger stuff is written or inspired by Jacques Brel. Gwynne

Did anyone else like Then Jericho? They were fantastic but short-lived and I remember seeing them in a hole in Oxford in the early 90s.
