My dear BC the whole point of the Tango is to get close and personal not only do I have to clutch you close I also Have to throw you about a bit. Are you up for it? I do not wish to break anything. B

Well ladies....I am available but please don't all rush at once. I am extremely handsome, six foot two (without my cuban heels) and am very serious about my dancing. B.

Please may I join? I should warn you I have two left feet and no rhythm at all. My OH thinks he can dance but he looks more like Andy Pandy than Patrick Swazey! Beryl

Val - It really wouldn't matter for basics but the theory behind starting left foot back is for when you are more advanced. Then, you would be more likely to start with a natural turn - hence, left foot back. p.s. WHAT am I saying - this is only a fun thread LOL:)))) Really must go now:)

I'm sure we always dance a waltz by lady starting from her right foot back, man left foot forward. Val

Chrissie, I do that if I've had a few drinks but end up with tears rolling down my cheeks cos he's not here. Jess, my friend had trouble remembering so used to say knife or fork instead! lol Jenny, If you get any spares, one I could put in the cupboard after class would be good. lol Vivienne

After reading Mandy’s last reply to my thread last night, I have decided to conduct classes for anyone who would like them:))) Basic Waltz Steps The lady moves back with her left foot, then brings the right foot to the side, a comfortable distance away from the left *no Mandy-not up in the air*, then closes the left foot to the right. The man does the same thing in reverse. Count 1 – 2 - 3 Footwork Man – Heel, toe, toe. Woman – down, toe, toe. Right girls, I am off out for the day and I expect you all to be foot perfect by the time I return. Next time, we shall learn how to turn corners *just in case you happen to be in a square or oblong room*. ROFLMHO:))))))))))))))) Chrissie x
