Christine God I am getting old. Barbed Wire! I was a young thing when I watched that. Not my favourite I must admit. Duchess of Duke Street. Most of the dialogue was taken straight from the books. Used to drive hubby potty reciting it. Still drive him potty. He's just threatened to disconnect me! 0070+ WHERE ARE YOU? |

Tony Doctor in Charge? Is that the 1970's ones? I loved them George whats his face was in them they were so funny Doctor on the Go I remember well. Frank Findley thanks Christine could see him couldn't remember the name he was in the film Robbery with Stanley Baker great film loosely based on the Train Robbery. Know what you mean about fancying him but that was a dodgy programme ahead of its time about incest, very off the wall. Pat x |

Aileen my love remember almost all of them my Mum was hooked on what she kept calling (long before Keeping up Appearance) BUCKET of Barbwire, she loved North and South, Richman Poorman and the Thornbirds, Me I prefer Monty Python, Only Fools and Horses, there was an American Programme in the 1970's called SOAP I loved that that's the comedy Billy Crystal started in, he was great then. Arthur Haynes I remember from when I was very young and if CB is reading this she will remember it 2 of Britains finest ladies the best female comedian/ actresses started with him the wonderful Pat Coombs & Patricia Hayes the cream of the crop and both Camberwell born :-))) Patricia Hayes was in a great programme that I can't remember the title of but she was homeless in it and she kept saying 'I ain't a Vagrant ' classic british TV Americans couldn't hold a candle to that stuff LOL Pat x |

Hi my lovely two best people on here (no offense to anyone else). Where is John. Playing with his Google no doubt! My hubby is hooked on UK Gold. He loves the old Sweeney and Fools and Horses. Me, do you remember these ones: When the Boat comes in Poldark Bouquet of Barbed Wire Duchess of Duke Street Beiderbeck Affair/Tapes Blot on the Landscape I thought they were great programmes. Don't get any really brilliant dramas these days. Humph |

LOL Now your talking Christine I loved that show. I actually prefer English than American programmes but still liked some of the American stuff obviously, See changes from childhood in the sixties stuff like Bonanza The Virginian High Chaperal (sp) Then there was BIG stars like the Lucy Show, what I have seen of it Jack Benny Show, Ed Sullivan Show Andy Williams as well. (just for you the Osmonds started on that one lol) I loved the English Programmes like Porridge was a BIG fave, Rising Damp Reginald Perrin, Arthur Haynes,Tony Hancock, Tommy Cooper, Two Ronnies. I could go on all night here, maybe split the U.S. from UK Pat x |

Hi Aileen....hope the tortoise isn't listening in! LOL Yeah it's unbeleivable that they did so few Fawlty Towers, as it was so popular. What others would you have liked to see on the list? One I really miss is Upstairs Downstairs, watched a programme all about it the other night ....it really was a great show. Christine |

Not the list i would have expected Pat, but then I was never a Sci Fi fan and those type of shows seem to dominate the list. Thought Star Trek was ok in it's day but the only one in the top 10 I would agree with would be Friends. Christine |

Sci-fi series Star Trek is the show most people want to see returned to their TV screens, a survey has found MOST MISSED TV SERIES 1. Star Trek 2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer 3. Friends 4. Fawlty Towers 5. Blake's 7 6. The X-Files 7. Babylon 5 8. Stargate* 9. Seinfeld 10. The A-Team Originally broadcast in the US in 1966, it topped a poll of more than 1,000 viewers commissioned by UK interactive TV firm Home Media Networks. Sitcom Fawlty Towers was the highest ranking UK show in the list, in fourth place Sci-fi shows featured heavily in the top 10, including UK series Blake's 7 and US shows Babylon 5 and Stargate, although the latter is still in production in the US. Popular US sitcom Seinfeld, which spawned ongoing series Curb Your Enthusiasm, was in ninth place. Well I don’t agree with any of them lol. I cannot imagine who they ask. I love Star Trek Next Generation and Voyager but cannot understand the fan base of the original series. I thought there were so many classic programmes in the 1960’s and 1970’s I wouldn’t have thought any of these would get a look in. Pat x |
