My Family Tree Maker prog. congratulated me when I reached 200 some years ago. They also invited me to put it online via them (they got copyright) which I declined, cheeky gits. Since then I've got a dozen or more families in the tree and hundreds, maybe thousands of names. Lost count. I only like dark chocolate, not that milky erzatz stuff. len

For those of you who have thousands in there tree have you read the new rules from gr regrding your trees;; just read on tips board so went and had a look this is part of what I found there;;; By submitting any material to the content to the Genes Reunited Service, you: are representing that you are fully entitled to do so; grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-terminable licence to copy, modify, distribute, show in public and create derivative works from that material in any form, anywhere; and authorise us to adapt the relevant material in the course of doing so, and so waive your moral rights to object to any derogatory treatment, or to be identified as the author, of the material in question. Should you be worried because I am if they are saying they can use my tree without my pemission;; Babs

Surely GR can't use your tree details without your permission. If they did I would sue them.

I only put a small part of my tree on Genes, otherwise it gets too unwieldy. I stick to ancesters of me on the spearside. Len

Unknown Report 6 Jan 2006 11:38

About 520 in my GR tree, but I'm not sure exactly, as I'm still checking all the duplications and omissions that have mysteriously occurred in it. About 600 in my FTM tree, which shows branches I've found but can't yet connect, as well as living people who I don't want to put on GR - mainly cousins of mine or my husbands and their children. Vonny, If you click on 'Search' then find by RIN/MRIN it will tell you how many individuals you have in your Tree. My offline Tree has gone up to 11726 this morning thanks to a newly found 5c1r.
