How come they dont come up with great holes in the research like the rest of us? i guess that is the celebs that they dont show us. Wish they wouldn't make it look quite so easy. Good programe |

Just how many times did the BBC continuity announcer say geneOlogy instead of geneAlogy ??!!!! And to think that the BBC used to be somewhat guardians of good English ! Simon |

Alice they don't come up with holes in their research because they can walk into a reg office and ask for 2 deaths certs and get them!!! Oh yes forgot to say he had no refs just their names and when they died, sometime between 1881 and 1891...... wonder if my reg office will help if I try that method!!! |

After watching it, I really like him alot more now, it seems to me that those outbursts are the defence mechanism of a very shy man, you know what they say, they shyer the person, the louder they become sometimes, yes , a very good programme. I think that they dont get the gaps because they have the facilities to do a good thorough research and are able to travel and have access to records that we wouldnt necessarily have |

I thought it was excellent, and Jeremy was really touched by his ancestors stories considering he didn't really have any great desire to learn about them at the beginning, just a mild interest! Claire xx |

This episode was brilliant I now know that me and Jeremy share one thing in common. His paternal line can be traced back to Framlingham in Suffolk, and so can mine, well at least the surrounding villages. My Suffolk ancestors lived near to where Jeremy's did. I wonder if we are distantly related!!! Ben |

Yes, a brilliant programme. I had never been very keen on Jeremy Clarkson until I saw him in the last series and I changed my opinion of him. Same this time with Jeremy Paxman; showed that underneath the tough and slightly arrogant exterior there's a real person. I wish he hadn't been quite so 'human' though .. hubby now wants me to start on his family tree! Oooh and we have a claim to fame ... we know Keith Banks, the SA officer who showed Jeremy all the relics in the Parkhead SA hall!! Mandy :) |

Considering he really wasnt interested in his Ancestry, he got involved very much in his past & was moved to tears when he found out his grt grandparents history. I felt for him as my grt grandparents too .on both sides, died young of Tb in the 1880/1890,s. I really dont like the guy, but,I was moved by his reactions. Shirley |

Brilliant start to the new series I can not wait to see the rest now. I thought Jeremy Paxman very rude to the interviewer in the beginning but he showed his softer side when faced with the reality of the way his ancestors lived and died. Love and Peace Marianne.x |
