jill, i am originally from london middlesex but moved to bournemouth 8 years ago. my road leads to the sea and beautiful beaches and if i walk the other way i am right in the town which has a market every thursday and saturday. the summers here are fantastic. every friday night through the summer there is a firework display of bournemouth pier and if you walk through the gardens you can take part in lighting 10,000 candles. we have a 'spiderman' marching band and they march through the town almost every friday night in the summer as well. if you like late night walks along the promanade you will see little camp fires all along the beach and small groups of people sitting around the fires playing guitars and singing. some will be playing volley ball. it is a very harmonious scene. that is just a small bit that goes on here. i love it. |

jill have added to shirleys thread. i got burnt on the beach when i was a kid as well so now i take care when i go in the sun. i'm always nagging my daughter to make sure mason is well covered up. she puts sun block in his hair coz he wont wear a sun hat. he loves the sea and he has no fear at all. we take him swimming every week. my hubby hates the sand. my son is a brilliant swimmer and both hubby and son swim in the sea together (i think they are trying to swim over to the isle of white). it is a really lovely place to live. |
