I've done several scarves in the new yarns - Shimmer, Cosmic, Jazz, Fizz - but I've not come across eyelash yarn. What is it? Janice

Have any of you knitters tried Foxy Lady by Wendy? It's lovely to knit with and looks fantastic when finished and a beautiful range of colours in it too. Maisie

I have never knitted before in my life but have just become addicted! All I have done at the moment is a couple of hats for my 4mth old niece and have just done her one in that new fluffy wool! My next project is a bit more adventerous as I am doing a poncho for her. I got the pattern off the internet and is really easy to do! Cant wait till it is finished! Bev x

I can feel the knitting bug returning here!! Thinking of doing a scarf my self. Somebody said knit 5 inches then do the split would that not make it a bit short on one side or is that how its supposed to be?? Gloria

Trish - depends hows loose you knit and how many you cast on with.............. Sirdar Boa I cast on about 30 stitches and got one out of two balls. Wendy Shimmer I am doing 40 stitches for my Mum and am on 3rd ball (max 3 balls) - but then Shimmer has a slightly longer 'fringe' than Boa :O)))

Trish - give it a go they are lovely - and addictive once you start :O)) For the silky ones use either Sirdar Boa or Wendy Shimmer - I am using 5.5mm needles as I knit loosely - cast on between 20 - 30 stitches depending on your preference - but it does look too thin when you first start, so don't be tempted to do more. Then just knit in stocking stitch (all plain knit) ............ Have fun :O))

Hi Anne, I like this thread, makes me feel like knitting again. My little granddaughter wants me to make one of the lovely scarves the fluffy ones,or shaggy ones . What is the best type of wool to use, what size needles, how many stitches to cast on,and is it just plain and purl. Perhaps I should buy a pattern. Would welcome any tips ladies. regards trish P.S. I prefer crochet to knitting.
