One after my own heart !!!!!! Lipstick in School -- Priceless!! You've got to love this School Principal. According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Priceless! Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror. There are teachers....and then there are educators! |

Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday dear Rebs Happy Birthday to you. Hope you have a good one and get lots of nice pressies. Jood - OH thinks 3C is too young to realise what is happening - give her time and she may not get in the carrier so easily - but she was very good at the v-e-t and took great interest in everything he was doing even when he went out to get her tablets she could see him through the glass in the door and she purred the whole way through even with a thermometer stuck you know where - lol I'm off for a shower too - Sad Sack is hogging all the heat in the lounge and I'm feeling really cold - bathroom should be warmer if daughter left the door shut - still haven't found the gratey thing - pity 3C can't tell me where she put it. Morning all another shorts & t-shirt day in Mackay. Lew can you tell me how long it would take to get from Tamworth to Mudgee it has been so long since I was in Mudgee & I can't remember (having a seniors moment)we hope to be coming down in October for our daughters 40th birthday. They will be coming up from Sydney to Dubbo zoo & then on to Mudgee where she was born. I can't wait as I haven't seen them for 2 yrs & Jim hasn't seen the 2 youngest boys at all. Lara we are hoping to get up to Mission beack in the next few weeks but it all depends on what happens here as they were supposed to start putting our garage up yesterday but rang to say that they won't be starting till tomorrow we are not impressed as we ordered it on the 4th April & the slab was layed a month ago. We have to take the car in next monday for a few days to get the door fixed after someone ran into it (car was only 3 mths old) & I have to come home on the back of Jim's motorbike not happy as it is 56klms away I have tried all ways to get out of it but I don't have much choice as we can't get a loaner car. So if anyone see's an old chook on the back of a red Honda give her a wide berth Jim thinks it is funny but I don't I will be taking a packet of Valium before I get on. Will talk to you all later Love Cilla |

Good morning Wattlers A lovely sunny day on the Bay, no cloud cover to keep the temp up over night, so it got a bit chilly, however the forecast is for temp of about 18 today - see they are predicting 19 for Sat & 23 deg for Sunday - so shouldn't be too bad for our interstate visitors. (Prob seem hot to you Sue) There are 5 giraffes with their heads held high this morning - and I can see them real good . . . thanks to the window cleaning job I did yesterday. Wonder what a Rebel does on her birthday . . . ??? Have a very Happy Birthday Rebs - hope you get to do something you really enjoy, and have some fun. (and that you get lots of nice pressies) I have given up on the barcode program - its going . . . gone !! Afraid this old brain couldn't fathom it at all. Well tonight its census night . . . how I would love to be able to see the Aussie census of 99 years ago and beyond, wouldn't we all! The statistic that will most interest me will be ther percentage of folks who opt to retain their info - sadly, I have a feeling it will be rather low. How are we this morning Trifley ??? Sleep better without the wheat bag clips ??? Hope you can get some relief from the b arm soon. RB, I dont think you will need the thermals - it wont get that cold, You will probably have days that feel like a mild English summer - and days that feel like a chilly early spring day - nothing that will feel like an English winters day!. Dont carry too much . . . leave room for shopping!!! Going to sit out in the sun with a cuppatea and a book for a while - sun will be gone off the balcony by 11am, so have to take advantage. Have a good one . . . luv Laurie |

I'm up Gwenda, for the 2nd time! .. Love hearing about 3C. .. My cat used to yell something awful when I had him in the car bound for the v-e-t. .. Is it because they know??? Geez, this cold/flu tablet that was recommended to me, doesnt do a thing. .. I wish they'd bring back the Action tablets - they were great. I was told to buy Sudafed PE (for sinus and allergy and pain relief) .. I ask you!!!!! .. I dont have sinus allergy or pain. .. Anyone recommend something better (apart from whiskey and the likes)? Manys the time I've stopped a cold from developing by taking Action tablets right away. Off to have my shower. The group are playing putt putt today - nothing really exciting, but better than staying home. Jood |

Morning Raggy & Jood (who's probably still in bed where it's warm) It's now 7.17 am in Canberra and it's about -7 here. Was -8 when I first heard temp but we are supposed to reach 17 which is a bit hard to imagine at present. Didn't get far with my HW yesterday cos I couldn't find a replacement vacuum bag, daughter was in early from work so we went shopping and fixed up travel insurance and got some more vac bags so guess what's on the agenda today.... 3C saw the v-e-t last night and has some tablets to get rid of the cough, goes back next week to have her vaccinations. She's the only cat that sits quietly in the carrier going in the car - the other 2 squawk the whole way there and back. Shazz - thanks for your email - hope its warmer Saturday or I won't want to be getting out of bed too early. 3C has just got the gratey thing out of the bathroom sink again - trouble is I don't know what she's done with it so better go and have a hunt around the house - don't want to vacuum it up later Be back later, Gwenda |
