Hiya Jood. Yes mate, they are expensive, but i guess like all resorts, they cater for O/seas market. There are 600 staff on Hayman. They go through 60 dozen eggs each day ( just for Breakfast ) alone. This question was asked by Sarah...to a chef...LOL Keep warm mate. Tony Oz...:>)) |

Enjoy that luffly sunshine Tony - Im so cold here, I am actually going to wash to the car to get warm - that means a bucket of water and a sponge or cloth. .. Seems the warmer the day and colder the night. Seems also that those islands are only for the idle rich,. I'm thinking. .. Doubt I could afford anything even if I did win a free trip :( Meanwhile everyone is behaving themselves to date, and I'll watch out for any misdemeanours. Cheers Jood |

ARVO WAFFLETS.....hee hee........from the bewdiful Hey man Island on the Whitsunday's. Aaaaaaahhhh...Queensland..... Money one day..........stone motherless broke the next.....lol Just dropped in to say G'day while madame Barbie doll has her Theraputical mud pack and facial.......:>)))) Hope they gotta lot of mud.....( but i didnt say that...lol ) jus jokin... Arrived at Hamilton Island at 11:30 on fryday, then headed down the Jetty to the Cruiser. They sat docked for one and a half hrs, waiting for 2nd plane to arrive with a load of passengers, and eventually cruised off at 1:00pm. After aboot 50 min and 6 Glasses of bubbly each....we arrived at the lovely Hayman Island ( alf stoned..hic )...:>)))) We are in the Lagoon suites 2nd floor up, overlooking the beach, and can make out in the distance the sunny shores of Oz mainland. The weather has been kind so far, with sunny skies and a few drifting white fluffy ones floating about here and there. Have knocked down a few Cocktails ( as ya do ) and sitting around the pool makes for a relaxing day. For anyone that has never been before...well, its very nice, very relaxing, and very expensive...lol Mr. Plastic card is crying for mercy....hee hee Average Cocktail starts at aboot $15.00 ......and about $10 for a Mocktail ( non Alchaholic ). A pair of Sunnies ( Sunglasses ) will set you back aboot $150 ( cheapest ) upwards, but its expected on resorts and this being our 5th resort we have stayed on, so we were aware of rising costs. My favourite is still Broome.W.A and Uluru ( Central Oz )...or though Cairns was nice as well. There is a choice of 6 restaurants where we are, and last night was Asian. To-night is Seafood at the 'Azure' and to-morrow 'Italian' There are two weddings taking place on the Island today. Our suite is very large with two rooms, Kingsize bed, 9 phones???( one being in the loo, which impressed Sarah..lol ) 2 Tele's, and balcolnies that over look the beach, and down onto the Lagoon with Swans and Ducks lazily swimming away . White Cockatoos land on the balcony rails in the morning waiting to be fed by visitors,( same as Hamilton Island ) and if you leave your wire doors open they will enter your room. Most visitors are asked not to feed them, as they cause havoc if they get inside. Hope everyone is well. Tony Oz....:>))) * Very relaxed * Lara me mate. GO THE MIGHT MAGPIES......2 point win |

Morning (just) all Wattlers, We're about to fall off page 1 and we can't have that......lol Taking a sickie today - I'd be sharing the office with 2 others for a couple of hours if I went in and they don't need to get my bugs so I'll just sit here on the puta for a bit longer. Picked up some herbal tablets - don't think they're doing much at mo but will persevere. Yep that bright light over Canberra is my poor sore nose - lol Trifley - put us down for Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights for Mudgee please. Hope you're getting stronger by the day. Think I might go and rest in bed for a while - I'm sure there's a cat here somewhere that will keep me company. ~~~~~~waves~~~~~~ to everyone - hope you're all having a great day. Guess Vonny is playing with 12 & 13 planks. Catch up later Gwenda |

G'day Waffling /Wattlers, It took me ages to get the message boards up this morning don't know why that was but fine now. Took a while to catch up with all the news, it's like reading a novel, very interesting, hope all the unwell peeps are doing better, me just a little bit hanging around. Yvette that would be a blast doing an aerobics class at Lew's, can just imagine it lol Jood you silly billy, but I can't talk I once put a tin of condensed milk on the stove to make caramel(in the days before ready made stuff) and a neighbour called me to the fence and presto forgot it, went back in side and here it is plastered to the ceiling and walls. Have to have 2 Grandchildren this afternoon for what is called change over, d-l-l day shift at hospital then son goes afternoon shift, so have them for about 2-3 hours. Went to the club for the usual Friday night dinner and a dabble on the pokies, was very disapointed with my self for playing to long and losing and then thought a couple more dollars and won all my money back with interest so was happy about that. Well have a great day all and will pop back maybe later Cheers Sandra in the Gong |

Good morning Waffling Wattlers Sun is shinning on another beautiful day on Botany Bay - we have just enjoyed breaky on the balkooney - ships are acomin' and agoin' and there are currently 5 giraffes with their heads held high. I think there is going to be a lot of activity on the water today as already there are lots of little craft out there and some bouys being laid for a course for some class or other. Poor Yvette, I couldn't believe it when I saw the numbers running away on her like that last night - ! So pleased for you Louisa, you have certainly put some effort into finding your family - you deserve the outcome. I had a big time at the Archives yesterday - and I'm back off out there on Monday, got some results for some of the requests - the others I will catch up with on Monday. Anyone else who would like anything looked up just give me a yell. Joodles (pmsl) you silly duffer . . . I should be going crook on you . . . you could have set the house on fire !!! Dont know about the Chicken Herder, but you could now be called the Charcoal Chick. (Naughty girl tooo . . . . Marie told me . . . after she gave me a telling off . . . teeeheee) Did anyone see the story on the current affairs program a couple of nights ago - a little girl who had a card from the PM - they were talking about kids learning more history at school ?? Well the school the little girl goes to is 'Hills' the Japanese owned owned school at Jimboomba where Glen went to school. (little bit of trivia) Donna glad things are going OK at the moment with Dan - fingers crossed for you big time. Hope Zac is fit and well for his big game. Now I know what that red glow coming from down Canberra way is Gwenda - was getting a little worried - Hope your feeling better today, keep drowning it !!! Nearly done Pam, good experience, but a lot more to it than some may think isn't there. Neighbour is our local co-ord, she asked me to be involved but once bitten twice shy . . . been there done that !!! (be at Bribie soon XO) How are you today Trifley ?? Just dont push it !! Or you will get the wrath of the Wattler upon you . . . Hi Heather, sounds like you and DD had a good night last night - P & P was first amatuer production our Glen was in - nah - make that second, I forgot about 'Grease' (probably with good reason teehee - too many egos in the cast in that one) TLR is booked to go back to Jakarta Sunday next week, so I will go up home earlier than planned, I will drive up on Monday week - Ray will fly direct to Brisbane the following Friday for the wedding the next day, and then have a weeks holiday. So I get 2 weeks up home - maybe more! Plenty of time to catch up with some Wafflers !!! Well off to buy a birthday pressie for Mr 1yr olds party tomorrow - Ray decided a fishing pole so he can go fishing with Uncle Ray. They have so many toys its harder and harder to select a gift for them, so looks like it is the fishing rod and some books. Big party tomorrow lunch time at Tony Romas (sp) in the City, 1st birthdays are always such a big occasion with our Asian friends, they tell me it became a custom with the mortality rate being a big factor in their lives. We have certainly been to some great events to celebrate 1st years - the grandest being at the Ballroom of the Hilton hotel in Jakarta, complete with all 4 teletubbies, a magician, 3 clowns and of course the Party Planner !!! (Little boy blue slept through it all) Have a great day all cheers luv Laurie |

Good Morning All, Saturday at last, I’ve had a super busy week, have read most of the posts, glad some people are finally on the mend, it was a week of lurgy’s wasn’t it. Congrats to Urban Girl, glad you have linked up with family after all this time, very exciting. I’m a sucker for reading Success Stories on GR, lump in throat quite often! Mary, so pleased you are getting settled after all your hard work moving, I remember it wasn’t so long ago that you wrote what your dream retirement unit would be like, and here you are now, moved in! Congrats to you! Oh Jood – the soup lol. I got in trouble yesterday I left the gas ring on when I went to work after cooking some scrambled eggs at breakfast, OH found it when he got home around lunchtime – no damage but a stern lecture as you might imagine. Fluffy Duck, what a good job you have done on the census, I know you don’t get paid enough, but it’s nice that you were able to get satisfaction from doing it, and we wattlers really appreciate you doing it. Jood, pmsl about saving lives on the cruise ship! To everyone sending funnies, thank you, I am recirculating some round my family and friends where appropriate, maybe that’s where all my computer time is going instead of doing FH ! Last night took DD15 to Wangaratta to see Wangaratta Players do “Pride and Predjudice” – long, but we had a great time together in car down and back (all her music but she likes good stuff eg Cat Empire).Play was wonderfully done, we enjoyed it a lot. DD is busting to be in something like it. She will have to be content with Christmas Play at Children’s Theatre at end of year – they have had auditions, I think she might get her part this afternoon. Looks like I might have to rush down to Sth Gippy for a funeral on Monday or Tuesday, good friend of my Mum’s died, and her daughters came to my Mum’s funeral so I feel I must go as my Melb brother is away in Vanuatu. It will be nice to see Dad too, Father’s Day visit a bit early. I might stay 2 nights actually, as everyone is back from holidays at work and I can sneak off . Bit overcast here this morning, I’m off to the gym in a bit, then jeans shopping with DD, then grocery shopping and “taxi-driving” and the day will be gone – anyone following Dr Who, can’t miss second part of episode tonight, think tea will be a quick pasta dish so I can sit and watch Hope everyone has a nice weekend, ~~~~ to All~~~~~~Hz PS I'm being very quiet about Mudgee because at this point I just don't think I can come, I'm so disappointed BUT I won't write it off completely yet till time is closer! |

Morning all, DEAR DIARY . DAY ONE I am all packed and ready to get on the cruise ship. I've packed all my pretty dresses and make-up. I'm really excited. DEAR DIARY . DAY TWO We spent the entire day at sea. It was beautiful and we saw some whales and dolphins. What a wonderful vacation this has started to be. I met the Captain today and he seems like a very nice man. DEAR DIARY . DAY THREE I spent some time in the pool today. I also did some shuffle boarding and hit some golf balls off the deck. The Captain invited me to join him at his table for dinner. I felt honored and we had a wonderful time. He is a very attractive and attentive gentleman. DEAR DIARY . DAY FOUR Went to the ship's casino ... did OK. won about $80. The Captain invited me to have dinner with him in his state room. We had a luxurious meal complete with caviar and champagne. He asked me to stay the night but I declined. I told him there was no way I could be unfaithful to my husband. DEAR DIARY .. DAY FIVE Went back to the pool today and got a little sunburned. I decided to go to the piano bar and spend the rest of the day inside. The Captain saw me and bought me a couple of drinks. He really is a charming gentleman. He again asked me to visit him for the night and again I declined. He told me that if I didn't let him have his way with me he would sink the ship. I was appalled. DEAR DIARY . DAY SIX I saved 1600 lives today. Twice. Jood |

Afternoon all :-) Trifley I like the union rules of no spring cleaning in winter, after all it must be winter somewhere pmsl. Anna hope you enjoyed Brisvegas :-) Louisa great news about your family :-) Jood pmsl at your chicken soup. I shouldn't laugh really as it's the type of thing I used to do when I attempted to cook lolol. Nowadays I play safe and don't cook lolol. Devily hope David's bloodtest is ok. Gwenda hope you get beter soon. Pam re buckshot pmsl Yvette I wasny lurking. Jess was on the pc lol btw re numbers someone must be deleting cos when I first came on it was Laurie who had it then when I'd finished reading and checked numbers again Yvette had it but from previous posts Gwenda seems to have had it first pmsl A miracle has happened. I finally got my meds yippeeeeee. I was told on the tuesday night to ring the hospital at 2pm, on the Wednesday, to make sure they were ready so I did but they weren't. So I rang back at 6pm then at 7pm. The nice lady on the other end of the line then checked for me and found out the pharmacy had messed up and although they had the prescription they had't made it up. She had a word with the consultant the next day and they had the prescription faxed to my doctors so I could pick it up there. Phoned my doctors in the afternoon wasn't ready, tried again at 4pm still no. Finally one of the receptionists, by a process of elimination, found out which doctor was supposed to make the prescription up and informed me it wouldn't be ready until 5:45pm by which time it was too late to take to the chemists. Also by now it was raining and thundering and lightning so I said I would pick it up the next day. Anyway I've finally got them, anti-biotics, inhaler and paracetamol. The anti-biotics last me until next Thursday so I'll have finished them by the Scottish meet thank God lolol. ~~~~~~~to all~~~~~~~ Catxx |

Hi All Has taken me forever to catch up on all the waffle. Have been checking out the site for a couple of days. Hope all those who are not well are on the road to recovery. Woke up this morning with the sorest of sore throats. Looks like it is my turn for the bug and Jood no you didn't pass it on to me nor you Sandra. Jood you really are a worry, don't think I'll let you cook my next lot of chicken soup. Shazz is still laughing, I can hear her now !!!! Tomorrow I should have all my census forms in. Then I start on the paper work............................. Sounds like all had a good time at the Sydney meet. Wish I could have been there. Thanks to everyone for the piccles. Trifley, how ya goin'. Please count me in for a hotel room for the Mudgee meet. Jarmies already packed...Don't think I have ever been so stu**ed in all my life. Wilson, Burpengary is not that far from me, would love to meet you while you are there and Lara don't forget lunch on your way through. Anna, did you have an enjoyable time in Brisvegas. If I had read the thread earlier, I would have suggested meeting you guys for lunch. Did Chris enjoy the show Tony, I have lost my gt grandad and his parents. Can you help me find them when you come back from hey man !!!!!!!! Yea SuzyQ, My bum is a lot closer to the ground now. Worked really hard for not much pay, but have met some of the nicest peeps you could find and, like our thread - no agro !!!!!!!!!!!!! Did a lot of work at a retirement place helping some of the peeps to do their census forms and apart from one little fella, they were the lovliest peeps. If you run out of cleaning fluids just come to my house and use mine here. lol... Tassie, - census - not a lot of moolah but lots of satifaction !! Tony, hope you have a great holiday. By now you will be in our beautiful state. I think you forgot one thing to pack - all you need are thongs and dp's. LOL Mary, have you settled yet and had a nice quiet day ? Yvette, hope all the assesments and tests go fine. Sounds like you are doing really well. Puddy tat, how you goin? Pills kicking in yet - just as well the good Dr Lew didn't prescribe for you - you probably would be full of buckshot by now. lol I have slept well most nights. After a big day, come home, have shower, collapse on the bed and sleep. Forget about dinner, but what is pi**ing me off is that I am doing all this walking and non eating, but not getting any thinner. BU**ER..................Tassie, can you help me lose the weight ????? Laura, Queensland is a great place to live. Just ask all the southerners moving up here to bask in our wonderful life style. Shazz, think I need lots more sleeps to rejuvinate this poor tired body.Thought I could handle this work but it is really hard yakka. I am just so grateful the area I had is so flat and mainly single storey houses/units/town houses etc. Hi Laurie, could just sit on your balcony all day and just unwind. What a lovely place to live. We have one small giraffe on Bribie along the water front and everytime I see it, I think of you. How is the pain management going - you poor little buggar. Vonny, was it you or Yvette who had trouble getting your census papers - can't remember that far back. Maybe the same slack mob OOOOOOOOOOOhhhh slap my wrist..... Hi Lara, Sorry I missed your birthday, know you would have had a really great day. Hopefully see you on your way back down souf. Spent my honeymoon on Green Is off Cairns in 1969. Bet it has changed a lot since then. Must go back one day - when we win lotto lol Won't bore you good peeps anymore, but haven't been on here for so long, so just had to have my 5 cents worth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~to all I haven't said hello to~~~~~~ Luv Flucky Duff |
