Over 2000 have joined since James at 17.31 this afternoon!!

I would imagine that a number is allocated to every person who registers - whether they pay to become a full member or not - that would explain why the numbers shoot up so quickly. Jacky J (it sez above) joined Nov 2002 and she is under 1593, I think I joined in Jan 2003 and mine is over 9000, so it has grown much faster recently than it did at first. Another legacy of WDYTYA I suppose! Maz. XX

When I first joined a membership fee wasn't required to be paid to add to the boards or contact people. That was brought in due to a little bit of trouble. Trouble I hear you all say!!! :-0 Yes, even in the old days. Paying a membership didn't actually stop problems but it has made a few peole very well off! Jacky :-)

i was being a bit sad :-) If you click on someones name it will show you their number at the end of the address bar. I just kept increasing the number until it was someone from today!!! Penny

Lynda Pace joined almost on the first day and her number is 120. I joined 2 or 3 days later and mine is 1953. The site grew rapidly in the first weeks with the number of names entered on trees going from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands withing no time. Jacky :-)

I think I joined in April 2003 and my number is over 100 thousand more than Dianas thatw as a really fast growing time for the site as it had not long started. Ann Glos
