Diana, That is an amazing revelation! I find it hard to believe that someone could be suffering so badly with cancer and it wasn't recognised! You really are getting some shocks at the moment! I hope there aren't any more in store. Take care! CB >|< XX

Hi Diana, I know it will be difficult for you to accept at this moment but nearly ten years on I am so glad my lovely man went in a similar way to your Daddy. We thought Richard had pulled a muscle in his back & only the fact that I was massaging it gave us the earlier indication that it was cancer, three weeks after he was diagnosed he left me. At the time I was so angry but now I am so grateful that he didn't suffer & I didn't have to watch him suffer. Take good care of yourself. Vivienne

Cancer is an ''odd'' thing, Diana. My Dad said he had pains for quite a while, but nothing was diagnosed. Then at the end he was in hospital for just a few weeks. I remember quite clearly the consultant saying 'we are 80% certain' he has cancer; and he said he didn't know how he would feel because both his parents were still alive. Dad wasn't in pain, they prevented pain. He just went to sleep peacefully.

Dee, yes that's the shocking thing is he was in no pain apart from the supposed 'pulled muscle' but then he was on other drugs for his pemphigoid that may have had some affect on the potential pain. we will never know xx

Diana I too have seen my best friend suffer, and I am so glad for you that you have the comfort of knowing that your darling Daddy passed away peacefully and painlessly. He also died in the knowledge that he had the most wonderful daughter that anyone could have. Much love Mandy xx

Hi Diana, It's a terrible shock when a parent dies suddenly...I know because it happened with both my parents - and they were fairly young (60 and 68). However It must be of some comfort to you that your darling daddy didn't suffer - whatever the ultimate reason for his death. It's surprising though, because we all think that cancer brings pain and suffering, perhaps that isn't always the case? And think of all the cash you have helped raise for research into that very disease. You are a credit to your father. xxx Dee x
