Can anyone recommend any posh (ish) restaurants in Central London? Doesn't matter what area but don't want to pay a lot more than about 50-75 quid a head for the food.

Yes, they are both really nice, David, in different kind of ways. I prefer Claridges but am going back a couple of years! BC?

You may be lucky to get a booking at the Ivy, David, but usually you have to book way ahead....

Thanks BC - will look at Claridge's too after my tea:) We're trying to find somewhere to take sister-in-law & hubby when they come down for their wedding anniversary in July. Thought I'd better plan way in advance for a change;))

Hi David, If you had asked last week I could have asked my boss but they've just gone to their home in Greece for three weeks. If our head chef is in when I am tomorrow I could ask him. His predecessors were Gary Rhodes & Phil Vickery, I'm sure he would know the best places. Vivienne xx

Only good resteraunt I know is a lovely French one in Greenwich called Cafe Rouge - from what there website says they have restaurants all over London. (Can recommend the soup, muscles, cheese stuffed chicken and the fish cakes) Would essimate £20 per head depending on what you order and how much you drink (14 of us ran up a bill of £300 when we went) service charge may be added for groups over 8 (about 10% if memmory serves) http://www.caferouge(.)co.uk/
