I understand that Paul and am not meaning to sound like I was whining or anything. You are right, there are folk on here who you don't have to meet personally to be-friend. I suppose that when you're able to put a face to a name it kind of helps you 'chat' better on the General Board. How many people turn up at the meets, do you know? Aileenx

I haven't met a single soul from here either Eileen, youir not alone in feeling alienated, I've never been to a meet and I don't really know anyone from here, I don't often add to the boards as I don't have anything to say that I think others may want to read, but I do read most of the threads every day.I add my two penneth when I feel I want to. McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 9 Jul 2006 11:25

I have only been to 2 meets - one in Kent and the other in Scotland with Jilly ............ I feel envious more than anything, that so many have a GR friend close enough to visit etc on a regular basis .......... don't think I could be any further removed from my close friends on here lol

I've been around for a few years now but just haven't managed to join in anything. Thanks for the invite Donna but wont be able to this time- wouldn'r mind a trip to Brighton either as I haven't been there in a few years. But I could join the Wattle Club for starters, Yvette... Aileenx

Hi Aileen, I've only met a few people from GR, all of whom are lovely, but do feel I know some others well. I've made some very good friends via GR which wasn't at all what I expected when I signed up. It's like most social groups, I think, you interact more with those with whom you have something in common, or who share similar opinions or a sense of humour. Sadly, some of my good friends are no longer on GR but we still stay in touch. Gwynne

Paul Report 9 Jul 2006 11:20

I guess I see your point, we do all seem very pally at times, but the thing is.... I'm equally friendly with a few people I haven't met, as those that I have... and most of those that I'd met were already good friends before I met them...

.......It's okay it's not a nasty whinge! Just been thinking that so many of you seem to know each other personally, what with all the meets up and down the country, and I haven't met a soul!! I've never had the opportunity to make any of the meets and reckon I must be the only one on here who hasn't!!! Aileenx
