Hi Aileen - I've never been to a meet or met anyone either, that's why I decided to organise the Dorset - it's on the 19th August and you're most welcome to come - would love to meet you. There seem to be quite a few new members at the moment and no doubt they feel like you do, but in time you'll get to know people. Everybody's very welcoming so just join in a thread, even if you feel like you are intruding because really you won't be. Kaye x

Hi I havent met anyone yet but feel several lovely people on here have 'taken me under their wing' I, in a part of the country that feels a long way from everyone else. Does any one know of a meet near me? I'd love to meet people with similar interests and have A LAUGH! I'm so weighed down by my own life I need to escape! Cazxxx

I have been looking at the thread with interest and am really pleased for you that it is getting popular. Hi Aileen I've never been to a meet either, mostly they are on Saturdays, which is one of the days I work. I've only met one person off of the boards, but they are now my closest friend! This board is a bit like having a load of pen friends, and that's good enough! Bev x

Most of the ones I joke with on here I have not met, I just think they sound ok by what they put, I have been to a couple of meets, but only small ones, so don't feel out of it, join in with the fun, we're an ok bunch really. :))) Bev

Oh Kate! .....I'll be your friend!! LOL I know the feeling your talking about but I'm sure we're imagining it. I can't believe I've started a thread that's attracted all these replies...a personal best! It's just that when everyone seems to know each other on a General Board then it is sometimes hard to feel 'joined in'. The 'Tips Board' is fine because it's just for help etc. Bev- I do agree with you. Pen pals are fine by me too but I just wondered who else hadn't managed to attend a get together...I guess we'll manage one, one day Aileenx

Aileen, don't for get other halfs are also welcome, I took mine to the Exeter meet last year, after all you have to have some one to go to the bar for you, more chatting time that way....lol I hope you do manage to go to a meet, but if your expecting loads of genes talk, then be prepared there is not a lot of that going on, more of laughs and jokes, so OH has no excuse.
