Cannot get a word in edgeways is one- I used to say Balderdash instead of swearing-but bought back thoughts of old, when my little one started play school (30 odd years ago) he came out with a swear word, and I said it is fine to say that, but never let me hear you say black stockings, guess what, he never swore again, but kept saying black stockings-I can laugh now-bless him.

How about Crikey or Cripes or Crumbs.....don't hear them much any more - not strong enough I suppose!!! I've never heard my parents swear...not in today's sense of the word....Mum used to say 'perishing' something or other, but I haven't heard her use that for years. Dad still says Oh Cor Blimey, or Gordon Bennet . His mum used to say Lord love a duck. Karen
