Oh Joy you have made me laugh. You have cheered up so many on this thread. I send my mom a card and a cheque cos she is in UK and me in Spain. My mil has been dead for almost 15 years and she was a mil from hell sometimes - but I used to wind her up - she loved her 2 sons so much and that was all she really had in life - so part of me did feel sorry for her. I always thought she thought I was not good enough for her son - and she also thought it would not last - well 40 years this December so she was wrong !!!!! Hope my daughter in law doesnt think I am a bad mother in law !!!! Take care all and thanks for the good laugh Love Mary xx |

Jackie, i dont have a MIL and even when i did i never sent her a mothers day card . she was a MIL from hell as well. my daughter just sends me a card and thats fine if she wants to, but i wouldn't end up in tears if she didn't as i think it's a bit over rated all this mothers day /fathers day thing , birthdays and christmas is what i look forward to. hazelx |

Jackie I have to agree with the others, she is very insensitive. Joy's idea isn't that bad either lol Get the kids to make her something and when you give it to her tell her they've made it for her, it might just keep her quiet, hopefully lol. My daughter is 12 and the first Saturday in March she went to town with a friend to spend her pocket money plus some she had left from christmas. She came back with a bunch of carnations and a teddy bear for mother's day. The bear still had the price tag on and the packaging said mini valentine bear lol but it meant the world to me and means more than some expensive present ever would. |
