marriage was 68, husband now deceased I think, 2 children born Surrey?

If it is the same Carol Carey she was born in 1946 and her mothers maiden name was Davis and her father Burton. There was also a marriage to a Valentine Carey.

Might they have married in 1972?

If so, there are potential children born

Its unlikely that the Council will give you any info over the phone, especially if they've opted out of the commercial ER - these are the ones you can see on line usually on a pay-to-view basis. Surrey have County Council elections on 5 May; answering unrelated requests will be given a very low priority!
You are still entitled to search the Rolls in person, but they are listed by address rather than name.

There is a phone book entry for A Carey in Epsom, and also one for A J in Brighton.
As the ER entries indicate their ages as 65+, have you considered that they may have died or moved into residential care?

Do you know if they have any children? They may be easier to trace.
Failing all else, write to the last know address, ( can send by PM if unknown) and to the immediate neighbours. The occupants may know what happened to them, or where they moved to.

It may help us if you can tell us what you do know about Carol & her husband, and why you wish to contact her. Her year & place of birth would be a help. We may be able to trace siblings etc who might have recent knowledge.

Hi thankyou for your reply and research. There is a Carol A Carey listed with a Anthony J Carey living in Epsom 2002-2014. This is probably the lady I am looking for. I have tried the phone book but can't see anything listed. Would the electoral dept. Give me any information, as the last person I spoke to didnt want to know.

There's a couple of entries for different Carol A Carey's in Surrey.

The property in Godstone is still occupied by Carey's.

The other address in Epsom has Carey's listed on the ER to 2015 (compiled summer 2014) although it looks as if it was sold Dec 2014.

Its possible she and the other person/people in the household (remember there are 2 Carol A Carey's) have opted out of the commercial register.

The Electoral Rolls are available to search in person, if not at the nearest library with a Local History section, then at the council offices. They have to be searched by address, not by name.

If you know the initial of the head of the household - usually the husband (we let him think he is ;-)) - you could try the online phone book http://www.thephonebook.bt.com
Added - There is an entry at a different address in Epsom under the male's initial. There's no telling if its the same person, or if Carol is living with him.

I have researched the electoral roll in Surrey for this person and it gave me some information but when I rang Surrey Ciuncil and spoke to a person in the electoral roll they wouldn't give me any upto date information.
