It is getting silly.
Forms for jobs regularly ask your religion - what's that got to do with anything?
If I want a Friday off to go to the Synagogue or Mosque, I'll discuss it in the interview.

Ethnicity? What do you mean, the country I was born in, the colour of my skin. my first language?

Marital status? Why do you need this? I'm here to work, not have an affair.

Sexual orientation? Isn't this an office I'm working in? What the hell has my sexual orientation got to do with shuffling bits of paper? Also see above.

A virgin birth was in the news a good while back. More recently, we had the astonishing report of a healthy baby born through IVF intervention, involving two females & one male.

There was an item about it on Woman's Hour a few minutes ago. It is not official BMA advice but was on an internal document that was issued over a year ago.

Thanks. It won't catch on. I think those involved would have more important things to think about and quite rightly so too.

Most of the papers seem to carrying this story of BMA advice:

Apparently they are obsolete. No more bouncing baby boys or girls.

Can you imagine, after hours of labour, being told you had just had a baby or child? More bad language to be heard in the labour rooms.

I don't believe my gender was assigned at birth, as I understand it, it was already decided by biology. As all of us were, it is just that biology doesn't always have the same result.
