No later than 1980, I sat in the local pub, during a darts match, sharing a bag of peanuts and chatting with a young man who was the son of one of the people in the big houses. We were getting on very well and I asked him what he was doing and it was attending a seminary to train as a catholic priest. So that was another poke in the eye!No point knocking on that door.

Today, OH and I went to a carvery near Worthing and were chatting to a friendly cove in a dog collar. He said he had needed his passport to come into a strange village, two away from his own where his church is and we said we had needed special permission and everything to come all the way from our village. When he found out where we had come from he said he had grown up there.

It was only my lost dream. Unfortunately, he had also been in the RAF and so had OH so there was no hope of me having any sort of catch-up once they started the RAF station virtual tour together.

Oh the smashing of our dreams !

He was forever promising to take me to Macrahanish. It took eighteen years but we did get there in the end.

I have seen through the fence where he kept his car at Conningsby.

Didn't go to either of them. Benson, Halton, Upavon, Innsworth, St Mawgan, Akrotiri and Episkopi and a hockey tour of some camps in Germany and not necessarily in that order . OH even more a he did 25 yrs all but 3 months. :-S :-D
