There are quite a few lists online of foods that contain the largest numbers of calories. Apart from pure lard or pure vegetable oil, it seems peanut butter and dark chocolate rank highly on most lists. |

I have heard of that before and I am sure that there are occasions when it is down to genetics just like it can sometimes be down to a medical condition or treatment. |

I wonder how much Dame Sally Davies was paid to write this report. |

Insurance companies use height/weight/male/female/age comparison tables in assessing policy premiums. |

I remember a client of my husbands was refused insurance as she was very overweight. Someone had to tell her this! Eventually an employee who was also a friend of the client explained that she had been refused cover as she wasn't tall enough for her weight. |

Even the 'lean' looking people can have internal fat around their vital organs from which many health problems start ... :-( |

I have to scrutinise food labels because my husband is diabetic which is bad enough and he is considered obese so that is a constant battle. |

l am overweight probably by about 2 stone, maybe more. l do eat things l should'nt and l do need to go on a diet, l'm not like the people in the programme though, but l sure can see how they become so big. To me Fat is not normal, but for those that are large (sounds better than fat...although l am fat) because of health issues its a different thing. |

Jude I've seen this programme before and Ii is interesting. In one I saw it showed to the lengths SOME people will go to hide food. One person was in hospital with his food intake and weight being monitored prior to an operation to help him reduce his weight, may have been a gastric band I can't remember. Anyway he wasn't losing any weight at all on this controlled food intake regime and swore he was only eating the food he was being given by the hospital. In the end they put a CCTV camera in his room. His visitors were keeping him supplied with chocolate, cakes etc. what a waste of NHS money and resources. |

I seriously think it is something in the water too, as so many people are affected, that and how everything is mass produced so chemicals are everywhere and cannot avoided. |
