I am glad your b.i.l. is feeling positive and no bad effects from the anaesthetic, and hope all will go well for him now.

What a coincidence that a friend should go ahead of him in theatre, hope he makes a good recovery too - maybe they will be able to cheer each other up as they recover from their procedures.

Good news Paula xxx

My husband had 18" of his colon removed in 2005, due to cancerous polyps ...................... and is absolutely fine ..................... "fit as a horse" according to one doctor. He still goes for check-ups every 1 or 2 years.

I've had two separate bouts with breast cancer, in 1995 and 2011.

From these experiences, may I say the following, without upsetting you?

Please be aware that you might not hear results at once ................. it can sometimes take up to 2 weeks to get the biopsy results, though hopefully the surgeon will have them before your BIL leaves hospital.

Also be aware that it might be more weeks of waiting before your BIL knows exactly what the next course(s) of treatment will be.There will be consultations with the surgeon, specialist, oncologist, radiologist, etc as they all try to work out the best course to take.

I hope he continues to be cheerful ........... and the rest of the family can also be cheerful during the waiting period. <3

Hello everyone.
My niece rang me this morning, she went with my sister to see BIL last night in hospital, he is in a private room and was sitting up in bed drinking a cup of coffee He was laughing and joking with them and seemed in very good spirits. He was given Morphine and told he could just click on it if wanted to, but he had not felt he needed to use it, I know that sometimes this can be a “normal” reaction and that the anesthetic would have still been in his body but he is so positive now and we are all so relieved the operation is over. BIL has a long road ahead but hopefully things will work out for him, please God.

I honestly can not tell you how much I appreciate all your comments and support and MPs thank you all so much.

Also to Errol on another matter. I have started working on my "project" and will expect a standing ovation in due course :-D
