I really believe that Tom has had the right treatment as I know lots of friends who have had this done and live perfectly normal lives.
Hope he has a quick recovery and you can get some sleep.
Best wishes...Brenda x <3

Just returned from the hospital this morning, granddaughter and I stayed all night as they insertion of the stent was impossible, so they have performed a by-pass operation on Tom.

He came up at 4am and we waited until he was awake in I.T.U so as to see him before I left. All went well and he will stay in I.T until tomorrow then he will be back to his room until Friday. Plus they will getting him back on his feet and beginning physio etc.

Thank you all for your best wishes.

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for your message, very reassuring to hear about your dad's experience.

Tom is 58 and although he hasn't had a heart attack he has had angina for a while.

So the warning was there that he could have had serious consequences if left untreated. Just hope the stent he is having put in today will last a time before he has to have it replaced, my understanding is that they last on average about 10 years.

Thank also Chris for your good wishes.

The operation as been delayed until this evening round about 6/7 :-(

I will going in to see Tom later this afternoon also to be with my granddaughter as she is there on her own as both her sisters are away at the moment. Once all is well she will be coming home with me to stay overnight as fortunately I live quite close to the hospital. :-)

Just heard from my granddaughter, the procedure went well but has shown that one of his arteries is 95% blocked so he has to have a stent inserted. :-(
This has been arranged for this afternoon.

Just to say thanks again for your kind thoughts and prayers for the health of Tom.

I have spoken to him this morning and he seemed quite chipper compared to how low he felt yesterday. In fact he was more concerned about me than himself,as I had slipped on the wet conservatory floor when I was with them yesterday. Twisted my ankle with a couple of bruises nothing too bad fortunately.

He is a lovely caring person and is always thinking of others and their needs before his own.
