SC- Not much use having lovely feet if you have a butt ugly face - that's where the slang word 'butters' originates from.

I'm old but have kept my feet in tip tp condition and my toenails are gold at the moment!! finger nails are a lovely green - Jailbird by Leighton Denny - with a stripe of gold in the middle - I look "Ace" - well I think so anyway

I've invested in some state of the art face cream from L'Occitane - quite expensive but hopefully well worth it - by the end of next week I should be looking at least ten years younger :-D :-D :-D

Ann what's the name of the cream? I want to get two jars :-D :-D :-D ;-)

I've got a bit of a tan and painted nails. I wear sandals and flip flops most of the time. I also wear make up every day. To me it's all about making the best of yourself. Personal choice mixed with a little bit of effort and self preservation.

It's called Divine Cream - Immortelle - by l'Occitane, I've wanted it for a while and then it came up on QVC on four easy payments, so that's why I got it

Although it's for the face and neck I have used a small amount on the backs of my hands as I have a patch on one hand which I burned very badly on an oven shelf many years ago and you can still see it clearly - however, I have been putting some of this cream on it - and I only got it last Saturday, I can clearly see and improvement :-D :-D

Never ever painted my toenails and hardly ever painted my finger nails

As for make up never needed it apart from a bit of blusher in the winter months

Tenerife Sun Report 28 May 2013 18:16

AnnCardiff, please report back on your opinion of the cream in a couple of weeks or maybe a month. I did Google it and read all the glowing reviews but I' m never quite sure how many of them are genuine.

RR ............

love your comment at 12:39

:-D :-D :-D

I did once use polish on my toenails, always matched with the colour used on my fingernails.

Have not painted either for years.

I have not used any makeup other than moisturiser on my face, other than eyeshadow and lipstick when going out in the evening, since at least the 1970s .................................

and I look about 10 years younger than I am :-)

some lines are creeping in now, to match the silver white hair.

I'm not worried ................. I'm growing old gracefully.

My mother used to use the phrase "slap and polish" .................. it was the phrase used when she was a young woman in the 1920s.

Wend Report 28 May 2013 19:26

I always put the old slap on and I always paint me fingernails/ toenails (well, nearly always - had to remove it when I was recently in hospital :-| )

Nah nah nah nah nah to Island :-P :-D

Good for you Ann C - likes the sound of yer :-D

Gee

Gee Report 28 May 2013 19:51

I wear makeup, dont want to frighten my students ;-) I do the eyes, not the lips, the lips get a gloss over them

I have 'real' nails, very occationally paint them (pastel colours) but I am lucky, they are very white at the tips

I cant be arsed to varnish my toe nails.........OK, maybe for a special occation, like a 'do'

What matters most..............is under the skin/nail

..........Oooh..........and being clean

;-)

Kay????

Kay???? Report 28 May 2013 20:02

some feet in sandals would look a whole lot better in Doc Martins ,yuk, big horrible grubby , toenails hard skin ,,,,,anything that makes them look better in my books and if that painted toenails the better.

paint mine all the summer in toe less shoes...

yes NS,,,,a little self pamper is no bad thing.

Island

Island Report 28 May 2013 20:05

Nah nah Wend :-P :-D
You don't wanna be putting on old slap :-0 get 007 to treat you to some new stuff :-D

Wend - same here - was most indignant when they told me I had to remove my nail and feet polish to have my double foot op last year.

Was actually in the instruction they sent me - still don't know why - I'm a silly mare at times I forgot to ask.

:-D :-D :-D You have to laugh - Tenerife Sun, hands up - I admit - I Googled the cream as well.

AnnCardiff - this is one OAP who is definately growing old disgracefully
