aivlyS Agree wih you totally on this one (have I written what I have written!!!!!).

You notice cigarettes so much when you have stopped. A chain-smoking colleague of mine aged 41 has just nearly died and had 8 stents inserted. Tabac is now taboo. Has really struggled to kick the baccy but now has an electronic cigarette and annoys the bosses by lighting up in meetings. But no smell.

We (OH and me) stopped 30 years ago, and we ran a Mini on what we saved. I used to have to go out in the garden even in those days because I would smoke herbal cigarettes. No, not those. Ones you bought from chemist, full of grass and clover. Quite relaxing, but you and clothes smelt like a bonfire.

So it was down the bottom of the garden, and a long walk back to house to get rid of lingering smell. :-)

Yes I remember Julia ... says a lot about the RRER makes you wonder if they should actually be on the internet .

RRED again .. no surprise there then ...lol .. my post said but he has stopped so why should he inhale your smoke ? .... no breach of any rules .. just a case of the poster being RRED rather than the comment ... hope GR notes this . infantile behaviour .

but the point is he choose to pack in, so why should he have to passive smoke??

to be fair i think, if he doesnt smoke then yes you should smoke outside, by smoking indoors your not only risking his health but the grandkids when they come round too,

ya can compair t to many things, ie car exhausts n things, but at the end of the day smoking does kill, so i think a little consideration for non smokers should be taken, its your choice to smoke, but its not his to breathe in n smell your cigs,

Bin puffing since I was 13. Big brother gave me 1/2 a woodbine and after a few drags ( dont like that word) disappeared down behind the sofa. Back then it was the naughtiest thing to do. Took it up regularly again after my son was born and only smoke in the conservatory when its too cold to go outside.
Last Spring was thinking of buying new verticals for it as they were stained but we took them off one window at a time soaked in the bath rinsed off and hung back up. Good job done. Might try that with my lungs lol

Have tried my best to give up but fail each time. Roll ups and I dont make a mess. well not much of one

I was sat at the bottom of the garden a week ago, smoking a reflective cheroot, thinking about this and that - mostly that - and I just happened to glance at the night sky, and I marvelled at the millions of stars glistening like little pieces of quicksilver thrown carelessly onto black velvet. In awe, I watched the waxen moon ride across the zenith of the heavens like an amber chariot towards the void of infinite space wherein the tethered bolts of Jupiter and Mars hang forever festooned in all their orbital majesty, and as I looked at all this, ....I asked myself, 'What as appened to the roof of my S*** House?"

Oh darn it Island, And, I have just despatched the gardener to the greenhouse for a fresh cucumber, for the sandwiches, which will be hand made by myself.
It has to be 3.00 because it is dinner at 7.00., you see. Maybe another time then.
